Sounds like warranty work to me. It may also be real simple like a loose valve adjustment. You need a second opinion. Contact Honda service on the net - gt a factory rep involved and I think the story will change dramatically.

How much to repair timing chain?

The internal damage is always the main worry with a broken timing chain, bent or broken valves, damaged valve stems and seats, I have even seen broken rings and split pistons and snapped camshafts, if the chain has stretched and the timing has jumped a couple of teeth you may be lucky, but you shouldnt turn the engine over even by hand until you find out the root of the problem, any damage may be increased tenfold. Unfortunately the timing cover will have to be released to find out before you do anything.

My pulsar 150,2008 model is not giving good milage. its only 30km/l. what to do ?

Smoke means the gas does not burn excellently because of 1) piston and piston ring worn out or 2) there is a damage oil seal inside the crank case thus the leaking motor oil mix with the gasoline and produces smoke when you roll the bike. Clutch plate, timing chain do not have to do with smoke belching bike for sure because these are mechanical parts not combustion.

I have a 2004 suzuki forenza and one mechanic told me that the engine was gone and another told me it's probably the timing chain, how do you know which is which?

Neither are hugely wrong.

Does it have a timing chain or belt. If it has an over square engine and the timing chain or belt has snapped, then the valves which let in the fuel and air and let the exhaust gases out travel up and down driven by the cam shaft and the pistons will travel up and down driven by the crank shaft. Without the belt or chain to keep them timed, they meet with great force, at least a top engine rebuild.

To check if the timing chain or belt has broken, you'll need to take the belt/chain cover off. Disconnect the battery first.

If its an under square engine, the pistons have a longer bore to travel, the pistons and valves don't meet.

There is a noise coming from the front engine where the ventilator is. It sounds like a diesel car, and the noise increase when the RPM increses. My Isuzu Ascender 2004 has only 60000 mi. I'm wondering if...

I recently purchased a 2004 Ascender with the 4.2l in-line six cylinder motor, and under the 60 day warranty, the fan clutch and water pump had to be replaced. The mechanic told me that the fan clutch wears out causing an out-of-balance condition which puts extra strain on the water pump, which was leaking. Another issue may be that the timing chain needs to be looked at, because the tension wheel/gear for the chain wears out, making the timing chain sloppy. Then the chain flops around inside the housing, making a similar noise to the one you describe. Have your mechanic/technician check it out.

Loud tick & knocking for a 1zzfe engine from 2001 toyota corolla

from what you are describing it sounds like a lifter/valve issue, i am a ford man i don't know if toyota do the same thing, but if they use inserts for the valve seats it is possible a valve seat has been dropping just has not dropped fully out to cause engine damage. buying a new engine will actually cost you less than an overhaul/rebuild anymore. the parts will cost you almost as much as a new motor will with all the machining that maybe needed.
