Where is the engine number on. 2011 Jeep Liberty Sport? I need the engine number, not the VIN.

Contact the parts dept with a Jeep dealer. Provide the vin number to them and they can tell you everything about your vehicle.

Why did the 1950s chevys car trucks use the motor ID # as the title vin #? And how can one change this?

Why do you want to change this? Depending on which state you live in, procedures vary, but the VIN appears other places on these cars as well, so most state allow you to use the same VIN even if engine is changed. Those which do not typically allow you to apply for a special title as a "reconstructed" or "modified" vehicle, which may cost extra. Some folks grind off the VIN on a replacement engine block and re-stamp it with the old #s

Have vin number but don't have engine number

only the FSM covers that. in the front of FSM.
each engine type its in a different place. sorry.
and different engine plants can do it different ,world wide.

no year stated
no series LC.stated
nor engine stated. LC has 13+ engines world wide.
at least.
in fact, the LC had the largest choice of all, by model.
the engine type is incoded in the vin in USA>
no country stated, either.

one series

find which it is and then post
where is my serial on say on 1FZ-FE?
then things happen.

I have a 1993 Harley Davidson Sportster XLH1200! I figured out that the 5th,6th and 7th numbers of my vin on my title are CAP which means its an XLH series! Model Code on my DMV title it says XL2! what...

This is a problem with your title. I'd consult the DMV about this. Here, as long as the VIN is correct as it appears on the frame, everything is fine. Some states use the engine number as their VIN number. Either way, the VIN should be the same as the one on your bike. Talk to the DMV about this.

Good Luck

I bought a yz250(1984) with-out ownership, to have ownership I must have the vin number but there are 4 numbers missing where the clutch cable has worn them away over the years, would there be another vin...

Can't you "forget" about ownership and just ride the bike without a title? After all, you bought it that way. Some states have a "rebuilt from parts" option for bikes and cars. Check with the state and see if you can get title that way. The 10th digit would be "E" if the bike is a 1984. The 9th digit is the key. It is a verification digit tied to a mathematical formula using the prior 8 digits. Any chance the vehicle division in your state could run the existing license plate and locate the needed info that way? How about the registered owners contact info? Yes, I know how freaky the state can be when asking for information. Probably the best thing to do if you must have a title is to go to a cycle junkyard and buy what is left of a YZ250 that has a title and then use that frame, or at the least, re-number your frame to match the junkyard bikes title.

How to determine type of engine in my 1987 Cutlass Supreme Coupe

It should state the displacement in Liters on the emission sticker that should be on the underside of the hood or near the top of the radiator. You can also find the VIN number on the front of the dashboard drivers side and the engine code is the 8th digit. You can then search the internet with that code. Please rate me on this answer.
