Question about 2001 Aprilia Pegaso 650 i.e.

1 Answer

Pegaso 650 i,e. 20011. First of all, it runs rich. Today I opened her up from a standstill just for the sake of it, and I noticed that it had left behind a thick black cloud. When I give it some serious throttle, there is black smoke coming out of the exhaust. The bike pulls really strong and is otherwise fine. However, I don't like to have black puffs of smoke coming out of the bike everywhere I go. please

Suzuki dr 125 1984 running hot on standstill, sluggish when rip throttle back and over heating and spark plug keeps going black any ideas thanks bike hasnt been on the road for 7 years just got it running...

Running hot? Isnt this an air cooled engine? Have you drained the old fuel and put in fresh fuel? The black on the plug tells me its running rich, and that the carb will probably need to come off and be cleaned out. Also, add a inline fuel filter if at all possible.

Hi. My aprilia pegaso is 1999 650 ccm. the problem is with cooling. On normal steady ride the temperature is rising till approx 70 C', on the same conditions other aprilia shows 60 C'. all liquids...

Hi, Repcys and the usual suspects are:
1. Low coolant level.
2. Restricted radiator air flow.
3. Faulty thermostat.
4. Coolant pump or fans inoperative.
5. Vent hose crimped.
6. Air in the coolant.

How does the oil pump work? What drives it?

Most saws today have pumps that are driven by the chain sprocket/clutch. Some may operate from the crankshaft on the clutch side. Some older designed saws operate from vacuum/pressure from the crankcase, ie. Homelite XL, STIHL 009, McColluch Mini-Mac.

Acceleration vibration

need to get the carbs synchronized Tom. sounds like you are still getting a rich condition in either/both one and two cylinders resulting in uneven combustion pressures. Getting your carbs sync'd should fix the vibration and the overly rich cylinders ,
