The small switch behind the clutch lever allows you to start your bike in gear rather than having to shift into neutral, say if you stall it at a light or stop sign.

check the pivot for the lever in the turret at the top of the box
3rd and 4th gear is the same selector rail so the end of the lever may be out of the selectors

I have a problem with my fiat Palio 1.2 clutch, the clutch pedal is normal but when I press to change the gar ,the gar is not moving

the clutch allows a break in torque so that you can select the next gear required. You have to move the gear lever to get the next gear
if the gear lever doesn't move then the problem is in the gear selector / levers and not the clutch

My 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee wont start sometimes, but if I put it in neutral then try to start it..It starts .. What is the problem with my baby.......

Test/Service/Replace

The circuit on newer cars with automatic transmissions has a neutral safety, or neutral start switch installed between the ignition switch and the starter. The ignition switch cannot operate the starter motor unless the transmission is in park or neutral.
Late model vehicles with manual transmissions have a starter/clutch interlock switch that requires the clutch to be depressed to the floor.
Neutral Safety Switch
Normal operations of a neutral safety switch provides a quick check for the adjustment of the gear selector linkage.
  • To do this, move the selector slowly until it clicks into the PARK position.
  • Turn the ignition key to the START position.
  • If the starter operates, the PARK position is correct.
  • After checking the PARK position, move the lever slowly toward the NEUTRAL position until the lever drops at the end of the NEUTRAL stop in the selector gate.
  • If the starter also operates at this point, the gearshift linkage is properly adjusted.
  • This quick test also tests the adjustment of the neutral safety switch.
  • If the engine does not start in either or both of these positions, the neutral safety switch or the gear selector linkage needs adjustment or repair.

CAUTION
Since you must work under the vehicle to adjust most shift linkages make sure you properly raise and support the vehicle before working under it. Also, wear safety glasses or goggles while working under the vehicle.
A voltmeter can be used to check the switch for voltage when the ignition key is turned to the START position with the shift lever in PARK or NEUTRAL. If there is no voltage, the switch should be adjusted or replaced.

What do codes p0707 and code p0708?

1. Place the selector lever in the "N" (Neutral) position.
2. Loosen the manual control lever lock nut to separate the cable and lever.
3. Place the manual control lever in the "N" (Neutral) position.
4. Turn the transaxle range switch body until the 12 mm (.47 in.) wide end of the manual control lever aligns with the switch body flange [12 mm (0.472 in.) wide portion].
5. Tighten the attaching bolts (2 pcs.) to the specified torque. When setting up the switch body, be careful O-ring does not drop from the switch body. Tighten the attaching bolts carefully.
6. Make sure that the selector lever is in the "N" (Neutral) position.
7. Adjust the flange nut so that there is no slack in the control cable and make sure that the selector lever operates smoothly.
8. Run the vehicle and confirm that the transaxle is set in each range when the selector lever is shifted to each position.

P0707 transaxle range swutch- open circut

You can start by unplugging the sensor and look for bend pins or rust in the connector. Once this is done you can try re-adjusting the range switch.

This is from www.hmaservice.com.
1. Place the selector lever in the "N" (Neutral) position.
2. Loosen the manual control lever lock nut to separate the cable and lever.
3. Place the manual control lever in the "N" (Neutral) position.

Code p0705

Code relates to error in transmission switch on side of automatic gearbox, as if the selector lever has been moved slightly out of its normal range. This might happen if the selector rod has been bent or the adjustment has become loose so when you engage 'drive' the lever is just a shade pushed too far or not enough. Check that the physical components: selector rod; the gear selector lever; and transmission selector lever are all as they should be.

Wash cycle won't start after the tub fills up with water.

There's no delicate or regular spin or agitation If your washer doesn't spin or agitate on either the delicate or regular cycle, check these:

Selector switch
Clutch assembly
Drive motor
Selector switch If your washer has a selector switch on the control panel, make sure the button for your selection is pressed all the way in, or set properly.

Clutch assembly Many GE®/Hotpoint® washers use a clutch and an automatic shift lever. This assembly is quite complicated. If there's a problem with it, you probably should contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

Drive motor Many washing machines have multiple-speed drive motors. Though it's uncommon, the drive motor may work fine on one speed but not on another. If the drive motor has failed on one speed, you need to replace the entire motor.
