I would say that the two cases were not properly sealed when they were assembled if that's where they are leaking. Before the two case halves are assembled, there should be a bead of silicone sealant put around the inside lip so that they seal oil tight when they are put together and torqued. Of course, the case halves must be a matched set as well. There should be some numbers on the case, usually a four digit number stamped on each half of the case down on the bottom side. Make certain the case bolts are torqued correctly. Now, a lot of times when the cam chest cover (nosecone) leaks, it will run along the bottom of the cases to the center line and then drip from there making it appear that the cases themselves are leaking. Clean the area thoroughly and then go for a short ride or stand the bike up as straight as possible without it falling over. Watch for the drip in the later case.

Good Luck
Steve

If the head gasket did not seal from the previous rebuild the anti freeze could travel across the holes in the gasket when under pressure. The real problem you may be dealing with is a crankshaft that is wandering back and forth. The previous owner fixed the worn parts but may not have fixed the cause of the problem. I believe the lower end knock is probably caused by the wrong size lower connecting rod bearing (another potential disaster). If the car body is in good shape I would search for a good salvage motor or see if there is still a factory rebuild available. From what you describe there is probably no hope for your old engine.

My 99 cadillac deville ran hot about 8 months ago i took it to the dealer thay told me that i need a new engine and to drive it for a couple days and see what happen i have been driving it for eight months...

If you have no obvious external coolant leaks then the most likely culprits would be leaking head gaskets or warped heads. I would take the car to an engine rebuilding shop and get a second opinion to the dealer, not to say that they are wrong, but your engine may be salvageable at a cheaper cost and those guys would be better positioned to tell you that. Hope this helps.

How long of a warranty did he give you on it? My guess is that if it's out of warranty you don't have much of a chance, let alone after an accident.

1991 cutlass supreme vacuum leak

The vacuum leak is being caused by a very SMALL vacuum hose . It is located on top of the motor where the intake manifold(from the filter....follow the large flex hose) attaches to the motor. There are a total of three(3) hoses coming into some type of air controller. Two are SMALL and one is quite a bit larger. One of the SMALL vacuum hoses is the problem. EVER SO GENTLY PULL on the hose and it will probably pull out. Use a good epoxy to hold it in place and problem will be solved.
