My kx 60 wont kickstart but it will bump start

Sounds like low compression. Do a compression test, and it should have at least 90psi,..if not,its time to rebuild the top end..(piston,rings,bore)...pretty common for two strokes.

I have a 1987 kx 125 just put topend gasket set in with piston and rings and coolent is getting in the case bottom end anyone know why plz help me

It sounds as if you have rebuilt the engine without torqueing the head bolts. Although, it could be that the cylinder base gasket has been torn during the rebuild. Try to re-tighten the head bolts to the correct settings first. Good luck.

Sounds to me like you should be checking the ignition coil and low tension coil for resistance
When it runs does it tick over, or does it stop when you let go of the throttle,
The other thing to bear in mind would be poss low on compression, as this is a chrome, nico seal liner, any wear to the piston rings would reduce the compresion and make starting difficult, remove exhaust look at piston through exhaust port, it should look like new, any scoring accompanied by burning to the piston would suggest overheating or partial seizure has ocured, this should be resolved by removing cylinder and replacing worn parts before further damage occurs, just a couple of pointers, small engines depend on good compression, a good spark, and of course fuel, look for air leaks, at gaskets and crankshaft oil seals which will also allow compression to leak from the combustion chamber, good luck, paul

Compresion in sump

HI I THINK IT IS BEST TO FIRST SHECK THE COMPRESION IN THE CYLINDERS, USING A COMPRESION TESTER FITED INTO THE SPARK PLUG HOLE, SPIN OVER THE ENGINE AND CHECK THE READING RECORDING IT, ON PAPER FOR EACH CYLINDER WHEN YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS ON ALL 4 CYLINDERS CHECK OVER YOUR RECORDED NOTES, IT IS NOT ALWAYS LIKELY THE READINGS WILL BE AS SPECIFIED IN THE WORKSHOP MANUAL AS A BIKE OF 10 YEARS OLD WOULD HAVE LOST SOME OF ITS ORIGINAL COMPRESION, BUT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A READING SIMILAR ON ALL 4 CYLINDERS, IF 1 IS SIGNIFICANTLY LESS THEN YOU COULD HAVE A PROBLEM WHERE THE PISTON OR PISTON RINGS HAVE FAILED, 1ST TRY THE AFORE MENTIONED CHECK BEFORE YOU START GETTING INVOLVED IN ANY EXPENSIVE REBUILD, IF YOU WERE TO REMOVE THE ENGINE OIL FILLER AND RUN THE ENGINE, IT WOULD BE QUITE NORMAL TO EXPERIENCE SOME SORT OF PRESSURE HERE ALTHOUGH IT COULD GET MESSY AS OIL WILL EMERGE, HOPE THIS HELPS

Cylinder 1991 kx 125

If your going to the trouble of replacing the cylinder - wouldn it make sense to replace it with a quality part ? You really should do new piston & rings while your at it..
If not - you might be doing it again allot sooner than you would like..

Your local bike shop should be able to get one for you..

Hope this helps !!

Fouling plugs

Get a new NGK spark plug one heat range hotter than stock. Be sure the fuel mix is 32/1 using two stroke engine oil ( not motor oil ). A 32/1 mixture equals 4 ounces oil to 1 gallon of gas. Remove the cylinder head and de-carbon the top of the piston and head.

While riding my yz 125 it just died and won,t kick up again

  • If a hole in the piston then install new piston and rings. Next, clean the carbon off the head and install a new head gasket.
  • If cylinder wall is scared the piston has seized up. Pull the cylinder off and take it to the dealer. Have them bore the cylinder and return it along with a new oversize piston and rings.
  • While at the parts counter, get a new stock spark plug and a supply of Yamalube Two Stroke Motor Oil. You need to add 4 ounces per gallon when filling up. This will be a 32/1 gas to oil ratio. NEVER ride the bike without at least the needed 32/1 mix.
Please rate the solution as a "FixYa" if able. Thanks!

How much compresion should a 01 banshee have on each cylinder

The bike will still run even at 7:1 or a little lower, but the specifications call for about 10:1.

1997 yz 125 wont start, please help

2 stroke bike are very dependent on compression. and being a bike that is 12 years old my best educated guess is that the top end needs to be rebuilt. i usually have to have the top end done on my honda about every three years.
