The ignition switch has three positions. Off at 6 o'clock, on at about 7 o'clock and park at 9 o'clock which will leave the tail light on and also shut the bike off. Just have to make sure when you turn the ignition off that the key is straight up and down.

2007 Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 Classic LT tail light not working

Hi, Paul tail light issues are relatively easy to diagnose and repair always check the tail light fuse first and make sure you have power on both sides of the fuse holder and the usual suspects are:
1. Tail light bulb element is broken.
2. Tail light bulb soldered contacts are extremely worn down.
3. Tail light bulb socket corroded.
4. Tail light bulb socket has no power and or ground.
5. Tail light wiring harness damaged from the rear tire.
6. Tail light rear fender wiring harness connector faulty due to corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets.

Hi, MrA sounds like a faulty ignition switch for this scenario you will need your service/owners manual if you can't find the first and best tool you ever bought for your Yamaha, despair not, for a mere zero $ you can download another one. How do i check the oil sending unit on a vulcan 900?

You have an electrical problem. I don't know for sure how your switch works - whether it makes contact or breaks contact - if it makes contact, then you should be able to short the wire to sending unit to ground and the light will go out and stay out. That will happen with our without the engine running - ignition on. That means your sender is bad. If the sender breaks contact then the wire is probably "hot" (12 VDC). You can check that with a volt meter or a light tester. You can even check it with a tail light bulb - the wire on the side of the base and the center of the base against a metal surface on the bike. If it isn't hot, then your wiring may be bad. If it is hot, then it's your sender.

2007 Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 Nomad tail light doesn't work

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Both bulb elements burned out.
2. Faulty rear fender wiring harness connector.
3. Rear wheel has worn through the wire harness.
4. Tail light housing socket not grounded.
5. Bulb contacts are worn out not making contact.
6. Socket housing contacts are broken.
7. Socket housing contact pad spring collapsed.
8. Socket housing contact pad stuck.
8. Light fuse has blown.
9. Faulty or corroded ignition switch.
10. Faulty wiring from the ignition switch to the rear fender wiring harness.

2005 ford escape rear tail lights stay on

Sounds like the brake lights are staying on, which is probably a faulty brake light switch on the pedal.

Tail light stays even when ignition switch is turned off.

Is it your tail lights or Brake lights? My 88 Couger had a brake switch that went bad and the Brake Lights stayed on.
