What else could cause a no start condition turns over ok occasionally it will fire

Fire when? as you release the key? If so replace the ignition switch. If you have fuel and spark it should start unless it is way out of time or the security is set. Another thing to consider is the spark plugs. Since you have had so much gas threw the engine, they may be fouled out.

Engine lockout

have you tried holding the gas pedal down a little to see if it starts that way,if it starts then your throttle body/ IAC is dirty,if that didnt work, check for fuel pressure if you dont have a pressure guage you can un-clip the fuel line at the eng have a small plastic jug to catch the gas and have someone just turn the key to run ( not cranking it over) and see if a shot of fuel comes out of the fuel line, then have them crank it over and see how much gas comes out-if nothing or very little then you may have a plugged fuel filter or bad pump,or a bad fuel pump relay-if gas comes out, then it could be cam sensor or a crank sensor problem, assuming every thing else is good-you didnt say if the coil pack was new or used,or if you checked for spark, but a scan tool would give you a code for either the cam or the crank sensor or any other relavent code.A bad PCM will also stop the spark and the fuel,I hope this is helpfull

Will a bad iac cause a no start

Hi Mike,

Check to make sure you also have spark. The crank sensors on these engine are notorious for intermittent operation. A faulty sensor cuts off spark and fuel together. I would also double check for voltage to the fuel pump. If you have voltage and can not hear the pump, I would suspect a bad fuel pump. The fuel pump relay should be changed with the pump too.

1999 Chrysler 300M, Dies on deceleration and at idle when warm. I can some time see the tach go to 0 rpm, with out the car actually dying I have had may suggestions, from EGR, throttle Body, fuel...

For the price of a can of throttle body, spray cleaner, I'd remove the IAC motor , clean it, and port it came out of and try it and see what happens. It sure sounds like the same old dirty IAC problems that are frequent . Normally that will cure it, and if it does, but problem re-occurs later, replace the IAC motor. (IAC= Idle Air Control.) Regulates idle under load such as AC on, turning, braking etc, to step up idle to eliminate stalling when off the throttle.86cdd45.gif

most likely a bad crank sensor, very common on the front side of engine block by the oil filter,,,,fuel pumps rarely went bad on those cars, crank sensor like $115,

03 flhtcui coming to stop eng died , restarted but would not idle under 1000 rpm

Mine was having this problem, I found the Battery cables loose. I guess it needs more voltage then the engine puts out under 1000rpm. Tightened + and - terminals.. Problem went away.

93 Impreza L Crank no start

Try replacing the coolant temp sensor. I was baffled with the same issue until I sat down and searched the web for like 8 hours! This is finally what came up. Seems like alot of people have this issue. My 95 started with the fans going constantly and then one day just refused to start. My dad also recommended changing the o2 sensor and the thermostat. All cheap and not a bad idea to replace anyways.
