Question about 1993 Suzuki GSX 600 F (Katana)

1 Answer

I Have a 1995 GSX750f i bought off line. Got it home and couldn't get the thing the fire up. Since than I've had the carbs clean, plugs change to the factory stranded NGK's, as well as the wires checked, and have had the fuel tank removed and cleaned with new gas put in to it. Now my bike fires up when choked no problem. But now it will not sit and idle when warm, just wants to die if i dont feather the throttle. It also dies when ever stopped because it just will not idle. When its really warm it will loss all response in first and just not start up at all until cooled down. My question is what do i do? Could it be that the carbs just need to run a few tanks through to level back out or am i looking a bigger problem? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you have done a good job of trouble shooting. You should check again and see if there is spark at the spark plug. If so great. If not you need to bypass the key switch and try again. Are you getting fuel, a dirty carb can look clean, the smallest spec of dirt can get in a jet and drive you crazy trying to find it. If you are getting fuel is it fresh? Old gas is one of the biggest causes of a no start situation, change your fuel. If these things pass you will need to check compression or even pull the muffler off and look for scoring on the piston and cylinder.if this is the case you ne to rebuild the engine.these are basic quick things to check and one of them will tell you what the problem is. good luck.

Brand new genpower 8kva generator wont start

Thankyou Keithdandy. It seems you know what you're talking about and even read the bit about it being a DIESEL (no plugs or carb). It's dark and we're tired now but we will certainly look at the valves first thing in the morning. (the mist bit gave it away!!) thanks again.

Ares 110cc four wheeler won't start gas not getting to carb

chk your tank and lines for trash blockage, when you get fuel to the carb go from there, the overflowing is caused by the needle valve in the carb sticking open, usually caused by trash in the fuel, make sure you are getting fire to the plug as well, I know for a fact the wiring systems on these things are not quality systems.

I have a 95 Road King that isn't running right, it

Backfiring out of the exhaust is usually an ignition problem. Unburned fuel is getting into the exhaust system because it's not being ignited in the cylinder. When the engine fires on that cylinder again, it ignites the raw fuel in the exhaust causing the pop that people call a backfire. I'd investigate the ignition system. Connect a timing light to each of the spark plug wires if it has a single fire ignition or either of them if the ignition system is the stock dual fire. Start the engine and watch the timing light to tell if the engine is missing as the light will miss a flash.

Good Luck
