Hi
It would help if you knew why it stopped years ago, wether there was a problem or it was just parked and running fine.
You have probably tried some of these but
Put the needles back in the original place, as this couldnt have changed while the bike was sitting.
make sure it has a good standard aircleaner in it.
change the oil
has the exhaust been changed
does it blow smoke
are the fuel lines correct
does the vacumn fuel tap work correctly(flows on P, stops on ON or RES) only run the bike on ,ON or RES.
Do the carbs flood
Fit new plugs
check all valve clearances
There are also some resisters in the plug caps that can fail(this would not affect all cylnders)
It the battery good and the correct one for the bike.
Is the charging circuit working 12v at idle and rises to about 14v when its reved.

I rebuilt carbs for a 1978 kz 650 and when I put them on bike gas come pouring out of casting hole on top part of carb under choke lever what would cause that ?

A stuck or bad float is the problem. If the float develops a pin hole it will fill with gas, no longer float, and cause the problem described. The float shoul be light as a feather & with nothing inside it. More likely is that the float is either stuck open or a bit of trash is causing the float needle to be unable to close fully. When you rebuilt the carbs, you did put the float needle back in each carb didn't you? Please rate my answer. Thanks.

Compression is too low!

Replace the piston rings.

Also check continuity from engine to frame till high-tension coil...
Check if breaker points aren't dirty ( clean out with fine sandpaper )
Check breakerpoint settings

High compression engine needs compresssion release plugs. Thats why it turns over easy with plugs out. Have compression release put in your heads

86 crx hf maybe carb

Turns out that itwas 2 bad plugs. Quite alot of oil on both. Checked compression and was in range for 216000 mi. Changed out plugs and it seems to be back were it was. Running ok but now am assuming that the valve seals must be going in the 2 cyl. Not smoking so also assume that the rings are ok. Steve C
