Question about 2006 Victory Hammer

1 Answer

I purchased a l.e.d. tail light and a voltage converter for my 06 hammer. First thing, I followed all instructions that came with both parts! When I plug in the converter, I don't get running tail lights, but I do get my license plate light. When I remove the converter and have the original plugs in, I do get running tail lights, but they are very dim, so is the brake light. I understand the dim lights, but why don't I get running lights with the converter plugged in?

Hi, Bcfdffhudson I feel your pain, I just went through the same thing with my 2003 Harley. I did some research and soon discovered that all of these fancy tail light/turn signal/brake light Led conversion kits are "JUNK" I ended up rewiring the stock rear lights myself for my own personal requirements, it was a pain in the arsenal but it only cost me $30 and a lot of time.

SOURCE: Problem with motorcycle

more than likely you had water in the combustion chamber. check your cooling fluid level. if its low thats probably what happened and it will need attention before you ride it again. (this assumes its water cooled)

06 matrix rear right tail light out - changed bulb - inspected fuse 18 and it's intact and fine - thoughts ?

It would not be a fuse problem since all tail and park lights are on the same fuse, you need a 12 volt test light or a voltmeter to see if voltage is getting to the bulb socket, it is the solid green wire coming into the bulb holder.

High voltage lighting on premium automotive

The first thing you think to do,to fix your headlight, cause it is not working,is to change the head lamp, right?Well,if you own a premium auto, like lexus ,audi, bmw jag, etc.then this is what you do,when you find a head light bulb not working, look at the voltage printed on the bulb itself, remember not to touch the glass part of the bulb.If it is more than 12 volts, like 46 volts,or 86 volts, something like that then you know it will have a converter. You know the auto is set up on a 12 volt system,so,it has to have a converter to convert the voltage to that high voltage to light the bulb, there will be a converter right behind the head lamp, for each head light, left, and right, before replacing the high dollar bulb swap the one that you know is working,to that side that is not working, this will keep you from buying a high dollar bulb if you do not need to.If the bulb, that you know that is good, works on the side that did not work to begen with, then you know the bulb was bad,but if the bulb still does not work after putting it on the side that did work, then the converter is bad.So be sure to check this before buying a new bulb, even though the converter(from the dealer only) is real expensive, there is no reason to purchase a high dollar bulb, and then have to fork out mega bucks to buy the converter also.

Rear lights work except no tail lights.front running lights work.can't find specific fuse for this

According to my info there is no specific fuse. Use a testlight and check voltage for rear tail lamps, white wire with violet tracer. That voltage comes from integrated power module. If no voltage, have to back track the circuit. You can check same circuit at integrated power module, if you can find the proper wire, same color.
I don't know if there might be any trouble codes listed for this problem, you can check?

Click on the link. Is this a Silverado? Did you use a test light and check for voltage at rr and lr park lamp fuses, with the lights on? Always check voltage and ground, you can see wire color for voltage wire at rear, l and r.

Tail light fuses

The fuse box should be located under the hood of your 06 nissan quest. You have to remove its cover and underneath the cover there should be a diagram just locate the turn signal fuse location check what amperage it is (should be stamped with 10, 20 etc...) go to the auto parts store get a replacement fuse install it in the fuse box and off you go... Hope this helps...

My Headlights are so dim that I cant drive at night in my 1997 Chevy Blazer. How Can I get them brighter?

You have to go back to the route cause & time
frame of the problem

Did you check voltage & ground at each lamp connector,
when they first got dim & you started to resolve things?

Why converter to a different bulb?
I don't know the current draw of the oe vs: the H4,but
that has to be considered

Obviously the alternator output would be up there at the
same time your checking lamp connector voltage.

Low oil pressure light comes on and engine won't turn over. Everything else works but no power going to starter. Wait about one hour and a half and it starts fine. Oil level is OK. Is there an oil...

Welcome to FIxYa.com

First thing to do is check the power to starter with a volt meter.

A. From the battery to starter positive cable check to see if you have continuity.

B. Check the voltage at starter. Red lead of tester to the positive connection and the black lead from meter to a good ground.

Results should be: A. continuity And B. !2 volts

If the results of the above or not what your results are then stop and write to me. If your results are as above continue on to the second test.

Second thing i need you to do is get a Hammer

Now do you know where the starter is ? OK (see diagram)

you will need someone to help you- have this person get in the truck key in ignition -- you go to starter hammer ready holler START ENGINE then tap on the starter with hammer. Will it start?

Now tap the solenoid . It is the little round container on top of starter tap that too. Will it start?

This is an easy way to see if the truck starts if so starter is bad.

Follow the trail for the tail light circuit, start at the turn signal switch wire to driver light, then if power is there go to the bulkhead connector and check there, that is how it is done in the shop, just follow the wire down the harness until you find the problem, it is most likely the turn signal switch, but check it first.

2005 kia rio brake light

I did it!!! To change the left brakelight, you open the hatch and remove the two screws on the right side of the light assembly. Then remove the cubby hole inside the left side of the hatch. Inside you will see 3 hex nuts. You only have to remove the one in the center (closest to you) not the ones down and inside. Once you remove that nut, pull the light assembly off (from the outside). There is a plug that will be holding it on. I carefully **** a straight screwdriver in the narrow side just to get it to move out a little, then you grab the whole thing and pull it out, you may have to wiggle it some. It seems like it will break, but it won't. It's just a metal thing sticking into a plug. The whole assembly will pull out (not too hard so you don't break any wires or connectors) then you follow the instructions to replace the bulb. Once the bulb is replaced, you simply line up the metal thing as you push the assembly back on. You might have to smack (open bare handed please) to get it back in. Replace all screws and stuff and that's it!
