Question about 1978 kawasaki KE 125

1979 ke100 wont kick. has spark,gas,air. maybe the timing? Have cleaned carb and looks good.

Classic cause is pressure balance pipe from ram air inlets being disconnected or blocked at the filter in Y piece connector

Are you certain the throttle butterfly or slide (depending on what model bike you have) is seated...if the actual throttle in the carb throat is not closing, starting bike cold will be very difficult as you are feeding in too much air.

Please check your jetting ( main & pilot ). Are they work. Check also your floating valve for stuck. A stuck floating valve will not allow the fuel flow.

Has the shop even looked at the bike yet? If they have looked at it and can't find the problem, I would get the bike to a real shop with mechanics that actually know something about how an engine works. The first thing to check is the timing. A dial gauge is used to set the spark at 2mm BTC. Is the engine flooded? Clean air filter? Float level set? Is the rotary valve in good condition and installed properly? Case screws tight to seal the case halves? Are the crank seals shot? New spark plug? You said the engine was rebuilt, ( recently I assume ), so the piston and rings should be providing good compression. Good battery?

If its getting fuel, spark, and has good compression there's only two things left. Either no or very little air or a blocked exhaust.

I recently got a 1974 Kawasaki KE 100 from a friend. It started when I first got it but didn't run very good. Now it wont turn over at all. The spark is good and the Carborater is getting gas from what...

Anything with an engine needs 3 things! Air, Fuel, Spark. Try the following.
Fully charge the battery.
Check the obvious! (Don't worry, I've missed something obvious a few times). For example, Fuel in the tank? No dead switches are active and your starting it properly!
Now to get dirty!
Disconnect the plug leads at the plug end and crank the engine for a couple of seconds. Remove each plug in turn and sniff the hole, (Smelling for fuel!). While the plugs are out test each one. Plug each one into it's lead, hold it against the engine block and crank the engine for a couple of seconds. Your looking for a strong blue spark. Refit plugs and leads. Remove, clean and refit the Air Filter.
Smell no fuel = no fuel supply.
See no spark = electrical fault.
Dirty Air filter = no air.
After all that and it still doesn't start! Take it to a Mechanic!!

Any ideas on how to start a cold KDX 200 without kicking it 100+ times?

In order to better help you with the bike, more info is needed... does it have good compression? does it have a good spark plug? is it getting good spark? is the air fliter clean? is the carb clean? is fuel getting into the carb? is fuel getting into the cylinder? after kicking several times can you smell gas as if it were flooding? did you kick it over a few times and pull the plug out (QUICKLY) to see if its wet with fuel? does it look like there is any condensation on the plug after kicking it over several times? go thru all this info, and please let me know what you find and if this helps you.

My 2007 suzuki eiger wont start. it has been sitting for a wile. it spins over fine, what should i try?

Air, Spark, Gas, Compression. If any one or more of these is start for you.
Easiest thing to check is spark. Remove the plug from the head and attach plug wire to plug. Holding the threaded portion of the plug against the head somewhere turn the engine over while looking for spark. The spark should be bluey white and should be rythmic in it's sparking. If it he spark looks yellowy or weak...try a new plug and see if it changes. Also before you put the plug back in you can put a thumb or finger over the hole and spin the are looking for your thumb or finger to get blown off the hole....this verifies that you at least have some sort of compression.
Make sure no critters have gotten into you airbox and make sure the filter looks clean. For testing you could fire the engine with no air cleaner at all but don't run it that way.
Verify the gas flows freely to the carb. Also make sure the gas is fresh....old or stale gas will have a lower octane than fresh gas. If the gas sits too long it can transform into a varnishy gunk in the carb itself. This will plug jets and orifices and even if you get it to start it will likely run like a dog.
Loosen the bowl drain on the carb and try to catch what comes out in a clear glass container....look for debris in the gas. If you see any debris it's time to pull the carb and clean it out.
If all looks ok but it will not fire...remove the plug and dribble a small amount of gas directly into the cylinder....not too a couple tablespoons. Reinstall plug and try to start. If it starts and then dies and will not restart your carb is munged up and will need to be taken apart and cleaned.
If the engine backfires and and such you may have timing issues but if it was running well and was finicky after sitting awhile I would bet on a fuel problem.

Gas leak when I lean my 78 xs 650 on kick stand. when i lean it upright gas comes out through air box.

your carb floats are sticking and allowing the fuel to continue to flow,have your carbs cleaned..

Rear wheel locked up, now wont start.

try turning the gas off and take the fuel line off and clean it out or mayb put a screw driver in though it to clean it and then take the carb apart and clean the pilot jet and the main jet then check the carb bowl for any signs of dirt and clean it out. then put the carb back together and put the gas line back on and turn on the gas. let on for about 30 seconds to a minute then take carb apart toe c if gas is in the carb or just lay the bike on its side to see if gas comes out. and if gas does come out try kicking it about 10-15 times or mayb more (no more the 25 times.)and it should start. hope this helps

Got a four wheeler that has spark and getting gas to carb but wont start not sure wat to do i think the valves might be stuck its a beartracker 4 wheeler not sure of the year its says 229cc
