You say it's flooding - is fuel coming out the overflows? If so, you might need to replace the needle and seat, but based on the age of the bike, I wouldn't think you would have to do that yet. Even with a bike that is raced, you can get many, many years on the needle without having to replace it - unless something damaged it. Inspect the needle and seat closely for nicks or imbedded **** in the sealing area. Also - I assume you set the float properly. This is an important step. Personally - I think the factory setting is too high - since about 2001 I have set the float 2MM lower than recommended. Otherwise you will have fuel pouring from the overflows on the faces of jumps or in the whoops.

If the engine is "flooding" - it could be down on compression which will make it run rich. Or you might just have to re-jet but I would only re-jet if the engine is fresh. You can also try running a B8ES pluf - it's a step hotte than stock and what I ran. Keep in mind that the ring in a 125 doesn't last long at all. There's only one ring. I would replace the ring before each race when I was running 125s - this happened every week during the season. 2-3 ring replacements per piston, 4-6 piston replacements per cylinder.

If you provide more info, I can give you a better answer on your exact problem - I don't know if I really know exactly what the problem is.

04 yamaha yz125 when I start bike it revs flat out, checked carby &; looks ok

Hi, check the throttle slide is at the bottom with just a small gap, if its higher, check your throttle cable, if they are ok you might have some dirt in the jets, youneed to clean the the inside bottom of the carb and blow the jets out with an air line. good luck.

My yamaha yz 125

if your getting spark than i would take the carb off and clean it you could have a cloged jet.( just because your getting fuel from tank to carb dont mean its getting from carb to jug) i would try that first......yz-maniac.

Does th reed valves cause the bike not too turn on

if you mean not to start they could. a reed valve is simply a one way valve that captures the air fuel mixture in a two stroke motor forcing to go into the combustion chamber rather than back out the carb

Changed reed valves drained out old gas put in new gas now it won't start. It's a 2004 Yamaha Blaster

hi mate on the carb there are 2 screw one for mixture and one for idle you need to unscrew the mixture screw 1/2 of turns and see if this improves 1728936.jpg

YZ 125 isn't getting fuel into it's cylinder

Check the carb bowl and make sure it is filling if so check the carb jets and also check the power/reed valves.

hi mate it sounds mechanical side instead of electrical have you changed the air filter or cleaned it also check to make sure the oil and petrol are being mixed correctly and check the air screw on the carb is the right amount off turns out if its incorrect it will either be to rich or to lean it normally says the amount of turns in the manual also check to make sure the jets are clear and the reed valve is closing propally many thanks
