I'm not sure whet the factory battery is rated at because they don't give you the specs on it. I would think somewhere around 300 CCA would be required. Your best bet is to get the best AGM battery you can find. The H-D AGM battery is a good battery and is priced competitively with others on the market. I've had good luck with them.

If you purchase a battery tender or one of the "smart" battery chargers and plug it in after every ride, you'll be surprised at just how long the battery will last. I had one of these batteries for five years and it was still starting my bike well but I replaced it anyway. I absolutely hate having a battery let me down.

Good Luck

2006 Harley Street Bob will not start

Sounds like the battery is bad - no amperage --- If you had the battery load tested & you know it's good, reset the TSSM. The procedure will be in the owners manual.

What is the best battery for my 2002 vrod

I would definitely go for the Harley recommended battery. HD has changed their sizes and you don't want a generic battery that doesn't fit properly or doesn't have the right amount of cranking amps

My battery is U/S. Has original battery in it. My Question is which battery do I need to buy?? As there are no markings on the battery, apart from Harley. I just need a brand and model number, so I can...

You need to find out either on the battery or from Harley, what the original battery was rated. It's usually CCA's(cold cranking amps). Then find a similar rated one, probably could find one at a batteries plus or other battery accessories type store to save shipping if there is one nearby. So you can either call a Harley dealer or a bike shop/parts store and they should be able to tell you what the original equipment was rated at for free.Someone is willing to give free information on alot of things to attract future business from you or a friend or whoever.Good luck! Greg Also when you do purchase the battery, you should make sure the proper terminals are on the proper side for your bike.

Bot new battery and it still turns over slow and then stops.

This brings up a few questions. Did you buy "enough" battery? The '06 models were the first year of the 96" engine if I'm not mistaken. Even if I am wrong, the engine is at least 88 cu. inches. That's a big engine. You need at least 250 cold cranking amps capacity in the battery. Is the battery fully charged?

Next, are all the terminals clean and tight?

Does the headlight go out when you try to start the engine. If so, the battery is not doing what it should. I've seen new batteries that were bad. Take it back to the place that you bought it from and have them test the battery. Good Luck!
