Start checking all of your wires from the ignition to the battery. One of two things have happened, you either friend some wiring, or you are toasted the starting fuse or ignition.

Then I would start with a new battery. They do go bad quickly. You can check your main fuse. What type of bike (brand, model) is it.
But iwouldn't jump it with a car battery. It could make your rectifier/regulator go bad also.

Battery honda shadow

could it be possible that the new battery is just dead from not being charged/sitting unused in a store somewhere? the alternator is responsible for charging the battery and providing power for the bike so check that. is it possible you blew a fuse or something on when you tried to jump the bike? im not really a pro those are just some thoughts. interesting problem.

All lights come on but bike had low battery so after several tries all the bike does is just click down by the battery.i was told that its not a good idea to jump a bike from a car,but i was stuck and...

The clicking is normal when a battery is low; the starter solenoid doesn't have enough voltage to engage fully so it just clicks. If you blew a fuse, there would be NO power at all to the solenoid or starter. The extremely low state of charge of the battery is sucking all the juice from the car battery and the battery doesn't want to give it up to the starter until it has a sufficient charge. Hooking up to a car is bad because a car battery has 40+ amps. The bike battery only has 4+ amps. You can burn out the windings in the starter and generator, ( or alternator, whichever your bike has ), by overloading with such high amperage. It can also mess up the bike's voltage regulator and rectifier. Just go out and buy a 2amp trickle charger and let the battery charge up overnight. Be sure there is water covering the top of the plates in each battery cell. Also, bike batteries only last for about two years. After that they don't want to take a charge and sometimes a battery will develop an internal short and will drain any charge very quickly. Time for a new battery. PLEASE rate my answer. Thanks.

It is OK to jump start your motorcycle from a car battery as long as you do not crank the starter too long (it will burn the armature) and as long as the car/other vehicle is not running when you jump start your bike ( you can damage your electrical components( igniter box)). See if you can exchange one with a friend to see if that is the bad component.

Yamaha dt 175, voltage question. When idling, my DT measures 7 volts across the battery terminals. When revved it jumps up to over 13 volts. This is a six volt bike. I know the battery is completely shot....

You need new regulator and new battery. The battery works as a filter as well.If it is in bad condition it does not filter anything and in high rpm the current is very high.

05 katana 600f no spark!

sounds as if you have an issue with the charging system, try using a volt meter to determine if the bike is charging. To do so you will need to access the battery under the seat, with the bike running hook up the volt meter to the battery terminals, at idle you should have around 11volts when reving you should have around 13volts. If not you may have a bad stator or other electrical issues. good luck

Bike will not start no power

Touch a 12" piece of wire to one terminal then touch the other end of the wire to the other terminal. Got a really good spark? No spark = bad battery. Okay, so you do get a good spark. Check the wiring harness for an unplugged wire. Also check for loose connections and burned wires. Bad ignition switch? Kill switch turned on?
