Plug wires may be bad-they wear inside--the float level ajustment on carbs cud be off--timing may be slightly off--compression on a cylinder cud be weak--get a clymer manual for details

Lets start with the carbs. You say you cleaned them. But did you remove and clean the jets ? start there.
