It could be a problem with the angle sensor or with the wiring on that circuit. Usually it is the angle sensor itself that has failed. I would replace the angle sensor and carefully inspect the wires that attach to it for corrosion or loose fit on the wire connectors.

98 Honda Accord Transmission Problem sluggish stuck in 4th gear

I'd say the shift solenoid connection is the problem. When the No 1/2 solenoid isn't getting a signal or has failed, the trans then can't find low gears, and of course it will be sluggish at slow speeds.

My 1992 honda accord will not start. when its in park the transmission light that tells you what gear your in is blinking around D4. not sure if its a relay switch or a sensor or something wrong with the...

When you shift does the trans light change? It might be your shifter not registering the right gear. Put car in neutral and push car to see if it is in neutral. Or try to start it when it says its in neutral.

1993 honda accord se with automatic transmission. car will not start. D4 is flashing. just ran 2 days ago.

D4 flashing? this may be the neutral safty switch, theres a selector switch that connects to the shifter, this switch lets you know what gear your in and also the compuetr. this sounds like it thinks its in d4 and will not allow the car to start. this is like the car is in drive and you are trying to start it. good day.

I turned on my 2004 Jaguar S type car and left in on to warm up, when i put it on drive, it wouldnt move I tried reverse and wouldn't move, When I put it on neutral It sounded like it jumped and like it...

The J gate is off and needs to be reset. This requires an experience mechanic. The J gate is located underneath the battery on top of the tranny. Turn the ignition to the on position, place the hand brake on, and shift the tranny in neutral. loosen the outer bolt to the J gate shift plate. It should be under some tension and will release to the proper position. tighten the bolt again and start the car. It will only start in neutral so don't worry about it jumping. When the car starts, you know it is in the right position. Run the shifter to park, reverse, drive to make sure all the gears are in their position. Readjust if necesarry.

Honda 2000 odyssey the shifter is in park, but

The gear range switch on the back of the transmission is either bad or out of adjustment. To adjust, try removing the switch and put it in the neutral position (it should click into this spot). Then put the transmission in neutral and reinstall the switch being careful not to let the switch turn at all during re-install. There is a few degrees of adjustment available by turning the switch in either direction as well if it is still off. The car should only start in park or neutral and the reverse lights should only come on when in reverse.

Adjusted gear shifter incorrectly. Cannot locate neutral.

Ok.

Remove the rod altogether and get the lever in the position you want.

Once you're happy with that, pick up the rod and look at it. The threads at each end are the oppsite of each-other. One is right-handed (you turn it clockwise to tighten it up), the other is left-handed.

Take the two small locking nuts and wind them on to the correct ends of the connecting rod. DO NOT force anything if it feels like it doesn't want ot go, as you will cross-thread things and the assembly will be kaput.

Offer the rod up to the connecter at the foot pedal and the shift arm and gently screw in each end at the same time. Make sure that the threads match!! ie left handed thread on the right, and vice-versa. Once happy with the position, tighten up the locking nuts and off you go.

If you get stuck, re-post here and I'll help you further.

Ride safe!! :)

How can I get a 2004 Honda Odyssey into neutral when the battery is dead? The shifter is locked into park and will not move into neutral.

If you have jumper cables, connect them to the honda as if you were going to try to jump it off. Be sure to have your foot on the brake when trying to shift. You can also use a "Settings Saver" that plugs into your cigarette lighter. This will provide enough power to allow it to shift.

Car stops moving in reverse gear

Sounds like the car is just slipping out of gear. Keep your hand on the shifter when you back up next time. See if you can feel the shifter move when the car comes out of gear. If the shifter moves up when it happens keep pressure on the shifter holding it back like you dont want it to move forward. And of course if the shifter moves back when it comes out of gear, put forward pressure on the shifter so it doesnt slip out. This might work for now but but i know i wouldnt want to spen 700 for that ****. Let me know how it goes.
