  1. Loosen tensioner adjusting bolt.
  1. Using Camshaft Belt Tension Adjusting Tool T74P-6254-A, pry tensioner clockwise against spring tension as far as possible.
  1. Tighten adjusting bolt to hold tensioner in released position.
  1. Align crankshaft so number one piston is at TDC (top dead center) with crankshaft key pointing straight up and circle on crankshaft sprocket (6306) aligned with notch in engine front cover (6019) .

Where is the timing mark on the head of 1994 Nissan pickup 2400

It should be atop the camshaft sprocket on the inner timing cover. A dot on the cam sprocket lines up with a mark on the inner or back timing chain cover.

The timing belt can be inspected by removing the upper (front outer) timing cover.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the accessory drive belts.
  3. Remove the timing belt covers.
  4. Identify the timing belt running direction to avoid reversal during installation.
  5. Loosen timing belt tensioner bolt and remove timing belt.
  6. Remove the crankshaft sprocket flange.

To install:
  1. Rotate the crankshaft sprocket until timing mark on crankshaft sprocket is lined up with the oil pump timing mark at 1 o'clock position.
  2. Rotate the (inner) camshaft sprocket until mark on (inner) camshaft sprocket is lined up with the timing mark on alternator bracket.
  3. Rotate the (outer) camshaft sprocket (radiator side) until mark on the sprocket is lined up with the timing mark on the timing belt inner cover. Refer to timing belt illustration.
  4. Install the timing belt on the crankshaft sprocket while maintaining pressure on the tensioner side.
  5. Position the timing belt over the camshaft sprocket (radiator side). Next, position the belt under the water pump pulley, then over the (inner) sprocket and finally over the tensioner.
  6. Apply rotating force in the opposite direction to the camshaft sprocket (radiator side) to create tension on the timing belt tension side.
  7. Rotate the crankshaft in a clockwise direction and recheck engine timing marks.
  8. Install the crankshaft sprocket flange.
  9. Loosen the tensioner bolt and allow tensioner spring to tension the belt.
  10. Again rotate the crankshaft in a clockwise direction (2) full turns. Recheck the engine timing. Tighten the tensioner bolt to 23 ft. lbs. (31 Nm).
  11. Install the timing covers.
  12. Install the accessory drive belts.
  13. Connect battery negative cable.

Can you tell me where I can print instructions for free to help me change my timing belt in a 93 ford festiva

Here are the instructions for removing the timing cover, and for replacing the timing belt. If this is helpful, please click my accept button! Thanks!
Remove accessory drive belts.
  1. Remove water pump pulley to pump hub attaching bolts, then the pulley.
  2. Remove right inner fender panel to gain access to crankshaft pulley.
  3. Remove outer crankshaft pulley attaching bolts, then the outer stiffener/spacer and outer pulley
  4. Remove inner stiffener/spacer, attaching screws, inner pulley and baffle plate.
  5. Remove attaching bolts, then the upper and lower timing covers.
  6. Reverse procedure to install. When installing crankshaft pulley, ensure curved lip on baffle plate and deep recess of inner pulley face outward

  1. Remove timing belt covers as outlined previously.
  2. Remove timing belt tensioner pulley attaching bolt, then the tensioner pulley, spring and spring cover
  3. If reusing old belt, mark direction of rotation on belt to aid installation.
  4. Remove timing belt from crankshaft and camshaft sprockets.
  5. Check crankshaft and camshaft sprockets, tensioner pulley and timing belt for wear or damage. Replace components as necessary.
  6. Align camshaft and crankshaft sprocket timing marks with marks on cylinder head and oil pump housing
  7. Install timing belt. If reusing old belt, ensure belt is installed so that direction of rotation mark made during removal is positioned correctly.
  8. Install spring and spring cover onto tensioner pulley, then install pulley and attaching bolt. Do not tighten bolt at this time.
  9. Install tensioner spring onto anchor, then tighten pulley attaching bolt to torque listed at the end of this section.
  10. Reinstall timing belt covers.

06 dyna super glide innerseal leakage & sharft seleter movement ?

I am not completely sure how the shifter shaft on you newer '06 FXD is set up but this it how the mid mounted shifter lever is set up on an older version.

The shifter shaft goes through the inspection cover on the outside of the outer primary cover. If you take the shifter off and then the cover, there is a tube that runs through the primary that the shifter shaft runs through. This tube has O-rings on either end of it. There is a clamp (for lack of a better description) on the inside of the primary that holds this tube in the primary. Take the bolt out of the clamp and the tube will come out. To work with this, you may have to remove the outer primary cover to gain access to the bolt holding the clamp. Replace the O-rings with new ones. If possible, try to find one that is the same size but made of slightly thicker stuff so you get a tighter fit. This may solve you oil leak on the backside of the inner primary if this is the problem.

But, I think I've answered this question before. There are several other things behind the inner primary that can leak. One thing is the mainshaft seal in the backside of the inner primary. Another is any one or more of the seals at the final drive belt front pulley on the transmission. Harley had some major problems at one time with the "quad seal" behind the final drive belt front pulley.

If you still have the leak, notice whether it is near the middle of the primary or nearer the back end of the primary. This will help a lot in attempting to diagnose your problem.

Loose shifter arm on the transmission

To remove that arm, the inner primary must come off, but try this first:
About 75% of the time, just replacing that allen screw will solve the problem. Don't just tighten it, replace it. Make sure the arm is slid all the way on the splines. The screw usually doesn't loosen, it stretches.
