Where is the oil drain hose on 94 1200 sportster

Hi Anonymous, it runs from the bottom of the oil tank to a clmp on the frame, remove it and the worm clamp that holds the plug and drain away, make sure you do these just after a ride so oil is nice and hot. Have nice day.

Looking for the oil drain plug and the transmission drain plug on a 2001 Harley Davidson XL 1200 Custom

Usually the oil drain is one the left side of the bike somewhere below the battery. Look for a hose that has a plug in it or one that connects to the frame. Harley had moved this drain so many times in the past that it's difficult to keep up with where the oil drain is located. The transmission and primary share the same oil. To drain it, find the drain plug on the bottom of the primary just below the clutch. Pour the new oil in the primary chain inspection hole of the primary.

Good Luck

Will a sump off a 600 bandit fit a 1200

The pumps have different part numbers > The 600 is #16400-06B01 and the 1200 is 16400-06B20
Chances are, even if the pump "fits", the 600 will not have the volume of oil flow needed for the 1200 motor. Starve the 1200 of oil and plan on a new engine in the near future. Sorry.

A “very helpful” rating for this answer? Thanks!

Checking oil level in K1200GT

Check when engine is at operating temp; after turning off the engine wait at least five minutes for the oil to drain back into the sump. Make sure the cycle is upright and the surface is level.READ OFF THE OIL LEVEL AT THE SIGHT GLASS - MAX upper edge of ring mark, MIN lower edge of ring mark (the difference is approx. 0.1 gal / 0.5 liters. To add, remove oil filler plug and pour using a funnel.

Oil issue

Was that with, or without, the filter change? It's possible that you are checking the spec for not having changed the filter. A fresh filter will require more oil. My $.02 - If it's in the marks, it's good to go.
