Hello, I just bought a 2009 Hyosung gt 250r that has about 800 miles on it. The bike rides great looks great and sounds great, but recently when I'm stopped in first gear it will lock up and it won't let me switch up to neutral. When I'm riding it switches down and up with gears perfectly but just when I'm stopped in first it won't switch to neutral. Also when the engine is not running I can switch into neutral just fine from first, but when it's running I can't.

SOURCE: while riding my yz 125 it just died and won,t kick up again

  • If a hole in the piston then install new piston and rings. Next, clean the carbon off the head and install a new head gasket.
  • If cylinder wall is scared the piston has seized up. Pull the cylinder off and take it to the dealer. Have them bore the cylinder and return it along with a new oversize piston and rings.
  • While at the parts counter, get a new stock spark plug and a supply of Yamalube Two Stroke Motor Oil. You need to add 4 ounces per gallon when filling up. This will be a 32/1 gas to oil ratio. NEVER ride the bike without at least the needed 32/1 mix.
Please rate the solution as a "FixYa" if able. Thanks!

SOURCE: Bad Vibrations

Obviously, harmonics are at play here. I suggest you change gearbox oil and filter then change the oil again (w/o filter) after 50 miles. The idea is to flush dirt and grit from the engine. Try the bike now. Some would say this is a long shot but it is cheap and not much hassle > and it may well work. If nothing else, it cant't hurt anything. Change to premium gas to eliminate pre-ignition.

If the vibration is still present you had best take the bike to the dealer for his first hand input. Broken clutch friction plate? Bearing going bad? Connecting rod going bad? If I had to wager I would go with the clutch. I am reaching here. Not much more I can do.

SOURCE: 2009 suzuki bandit 1250. bike is hunting between

This issue is common on some bikes because of the new emission laws. They tend to run to lean at certain revs to meet the new emission rules. Fitting a power commander will stop the fuel system leaning out.

You have a crossed wire someplace in your wireharness. go back to the dealer and make them change it - it should be under warranty if you bought it new.

2008 Hyosung GT650S I think my side stand relay is causing my bike not to start. The Stator was replaced recently and the battery seems to be holding a charge fine. Sometimes the bike just won't...

What I would suggest then is to bridge the side stand switch. If the switch stays open circuit, it will never start but if you bridge the wires before the switch then the bike should start and have now solved the problem for the interim or you if it does not start you know you have to look elsewhere.

Please get back if you require anything else or give favorable feedback.

Thank you

Engine

Just about anything is possible but this would be difficult. I think the body/chassis is different. You also have a different transmission between the two bikes; 6 speed on the 650R and 5 speed on the 250R. The 650R is a liquid cooled engine while the 250R is air/oil cooled. They both use different carbs.,
