I hav a alpine cda-w925ehi head unit an it just stopped an now says "interrupt"

Hi I believe you have an Australia model? Alpine's use what's know as an interrupt wire to hook into vehicles/phones to interrupt the audio of the deck when their is a signal sent to it. On the Alpine harness you need to search for the Pink/black striped wire which is the audio interrupt wire. Make sure that wire is insulated and not grounding out against anything or hooked up incorrectly.

I've got a 1988 Dodge Ram and I know nothing about Car Stereos

go down to a electronics shop (future shop or best buy) and they will have a connector that will fit the original plug. Some splicing will be required but its all color coded with the deck
hope this helps

Display malfunctions/no working functions

Remote turn on lead shorted to audio intterupt lead? I would just hook up power and ground to the 9833 and see if problem goes away. If not is must be internal to the 9833. If problem goes away i would double check wiring. Good luck that is a sweet cd player.

Instaling alpine car/cd stereo cda 9807

Its probably your wiring harness that came with the stereo. Which can cause many more problems. alpine changed their wiring harness around that time. But they used the same plug, just wired different. So now there are crossed wires, but the plug fits, causing the amp chip to fry. maybe even further than the amp chip. an amp chip replacement runs about 80$ at a repair shop. if its just that.

How to install an alpine cda 9851

you go to a stereo shop..(walmart autozone etc should also do) buy a mounting kit and a wire harness adapter. The wire colors on the adapter match the wire colors of most aftermarket decks. MAtch the wire colors and connect...make sure to tape wires well as if they touch you rick damage to your deck.. install the mount kit plug in your cd player and slide it in and you are good to go..

Cd plays, but no sound

Disconnect the blue wire from the back of the radio and connect the blue/white wire in its place. This should fix your problem.
