if carb is getting fuel then didnt get it clean enough or needs rebuild -----replacement

Some carb cleaners are less volatile than others and an ether spray is usually best for testing.

If fuel is being delivered to the combustion chamber the spark plug(s) will soon be wetted and there will be a strong smell of fuel as the vapours are pumped out of the exhaust after a period of cranking.

It is worth mentioning the atmosphere inside the cylinder under compression is fairly dense and a greater voltage is needed to make a spark inside than outside and that is why a nice fat blue spark is what we look for, though it is usually impossible to obtain from a flywheel magneto type ignition at starter speed.

What testing told you that?

I would only be guessing (that is all we do here)

But it sounds as though the ignition switch is worn
& effects the fuel pump circuit, when in the on position,maybe!

Get yourself a wiring diagram & see how the system should work,
then test it at different points that are accessible

it sounds like they didnt test drive it-bring it bac and tell them--probly need a jet ajusted--buy a clymer manual for service on total bike

Items to check out: Battery and battery cables (Load test battery and make sure cables are clean and tight especially the B+ cable off the starter).
Listen to the cranking speed of the starter. Does it sound normal or slow? Depending on what you hear you may want to do a starter current draw test or have a shop do it for you.

If all of the above are a-ok then move onto fuel and ignition checks.
When you put the key into the ignition and turn it to on position do you hear the fuel pump buzz?
No buzzing sound ... you could have either a bad fuel
pump or relay. To test the relay use the shop manual .But you can use a jumper wire to jump the B+ terminal off the relay to the pump motor terminal off the relay and see if the pump runs. Before you do this make sure there is B+ off the relay B+ terminal. If the pump doesn't run, the pump is your problem. To verify the relay works there has got to be B+ going into the relay and coming out of it to juice up the pump. Use a voltmeter to verify this. Good luck

Unscrew a spark plug attach it to its wire and ground its electrode . Crank engine and look for spark. Or use a spark tester.
No spark! Now check plug wires and coil. How? Use shop manual for correct testing procedure .
If no spark is found coming from the coil then check B+ coming from battery to coil and ignition module. And check the ignition module. REMEMBER IF YOUR GETTING SPARK, THERE IS NO NEED TO TEST THE MODULE.
Lastly not likely , ignition switch should not be left out of the equation. Your gonna need the shop manual for that test procedure. Good luck

Initially, remove the sparkplugs, note and postback the colors of the tip.

Almost always, idling problem is a carb issue (air/fuel mix & amount), On the otherhand, refusing to accelerate past a certain speed (or more particularly, a certain RPM while under load) indicates an air leak. Test drive the bike again and note where it starts to fail to accelerate, consistently on 35MPH or a particular RPM.

Please postback results of above checks.

Check in the fuse block to check for the fuel pump relay.

check the fuel pump might be the cause of this also try to get a starting fluid and spray to the intake manifold it should start for a few due to gas you feed, then the fuel pump problem not electrical good luck
