I have a 1998 Suzuki GSX-R 750 SRAD. My problem is my battery doesn't seem to stay charged. I have to Jump it off with my car, but then when I remove the cable the bike shuts off. The battery is brand new. It ran for a day then the battery was dead all of a sudden.

Sounds as if your charging system is not operating, OR you have a short somewhere in your wiring. Might try charging the battery to full charge, crank the bike and while at idle, put voltmeter on the battery. Read the voltage, then, move throttle to high idle and see if there is an increase in volts. If not, charging system is problem. Might want to check all your fuses and any circuit breakers you may have.

Sounds like your charging system went out, this isn't a new problem to bikes and alot of older bike have this issue. First was your car running when you jump started your bike?? If so this can cause damage to the charging system. if your not sure how to replace the stator and reg/rec i will happey to help you get it done. please understand that this does take some thinking and removing the tail, left hand body parts and the lh side cover of the motor. If your will to take it on let me know. If not your local bike shop can fix your bike in about a week if they have to order parts. the stator on your bike isn't the cheapest and reg/rec isn;t that bad as far as price goes. you'll need oil a filter and a new gasket for the motor cover and the charging system parts.
let me know what you would like to do.

You must open the right hand engine cover.Unscrew the bolts with the springs and remove the plate and all the disks as a group.Don't mix them up.Wet the new ones with engine oil and place them exactly as the old ones were.
