Bigbadbruno, did you ever find a solution? I'm having the exact same problem with my Yamaha. The strange thing is that it worked for a couple weeks and once I changed my batteries in my remote. It only controls the volume now.
It controls the volume just fine. It's the power that doesn't work. I'm having the same problem with my Yamaha receiver. Different model. Multiple Comcast remotes too.

Odd, what model Comcast do you have. Yamaha remote codes have been pretty much the same for 20 years. Even the oldest receiver remote will still work the vol on a newer unit. Get back to me with the model of the remote and I will see what I can work out for you.

30176 is the code you need . Press Aux and then hold setup until Aux lights up. Enter code. If you want the remote to control the receiver all the time, press Aux and then hold setup until Aux lights up. Enter 993 then press Aux. Aux will flash, now press Cbl and Aux should light up when you use the volume.
