Normally this is a stuck float and needs to be cleaned and reset. If the bike has sat for a period of time,

My 2000 kawasaki zrx 1100 will crank an run on choke but die when I take it off choke

If you have a choke you have a carb(s). If it will only run on choke the low speed circuit is likely dirty/plugged. If it will run at medium or higher throttle on choke only you may have further carb pluggin gproblems and/or a plugged fuel filter or pinched line etc.

Hi i have a ZRX1100 C1 and it runs fine, however i have noticed at times that it is strating to act as though it is running out of fuel, or when the throttle is opened quickly it seems to pause a few...

Did your bike set up over the winter or for a long period of time (overtwo or three weeks)? If so, the fuel/ethanol mix has gummed, partially closing off jets and passageways. Rather than go to the expense of tearing the carb/injector down, purchase a can of SeaFoam and pour half the can in your fuel tank. Ride the way you normally ride, and if that was the problem, you will notice a difference within thirty minutes to and hour of riding. Might check your aircleaner for cleanliness, also.

Just picked up this 1996 GPZ 1100 ABS. Starts ok with full choke but does not idle. Need to keep the choke on to keep the bike running. Once I close the choke the bike does not idle. Checked for air...

It sounds like the carbs are gummed up from sitting. The fuel that we get now is very unstable and gums up quickly. When you choke the bike it is bypassing the carbs and that is why it runs. I would suggest a carb clean and fuel tank flush, the carbs are very intricate and should only be worked on by a qualified technician.
Thanks,
Steve

I have a problem with gas overflowing where my air cleaner is. Could it be that the floats in the carbs are stuck. it is a 2000 kawasaki ZRX1100

thats what I would say is the problem....give the carbs a tap with a extension or screwdriver to knock the floats loose........also run some carb cleaner through the tank.......i recommend SeaFoam its sold at advanced auto, autozone, etc. just read the back to know how much to put in your tank.

Hope this helps

My motorcycle has a miss.

Richard ,
check that your carbies are synchronised .
i would make sure also that you dont have a faulty HTand HT lead to the saprk plug which may cause the wet plug .
check all electrical first prior to thinking of a valve problem .
try to swap the HT and see if the senario happens on another cylinder . if it does , you know than your HT will be faulty .
try that and see how you go .

Kawasaki zephyr 1100 not running right

The carbs have some very tiny passages that will easily be blocked by that varnish reside. You will need to pull the carbs and flush every jet drilling with an aerosol carb cleaner like gumout Remove the jet and blow the spray cleaner through, rinsing out ant gum build up. Clean all the passages you can find and the rest of the carb linkage and bod. Idle passages are vacuum drawn and if your manifold vacumm is low then the fuel cannot be sypyphoned. to keep the engine running. Vacuum leaks are common on bikes that sit because the hoses dry up and loose thier seal. Check all you hoses and replace any in doubt. Good luc And let me know, please.- Ned

Rough running

This problem, ironically, might simply be the screen filter on the in tank petcock. The zrx is a gravity fed filter-less fuel system with only the screen to act as a filter. I had the same problem with my black 2001 zrx and did a full tune up before pulling the petcock and cleaning away 9 years of sediment from what appeared to be a very clean tank. I simply purchased a seal kit from Kawasaki before the tear down and waited till the tank was as empty as it would get by riding it. The screen was surprisingly clogged with junk...and once cleaned and reinstalled the bike no longer ran poorly when cold. Im not sure why the bike being warmed up made a difference but it did......now it starts and runs like a champ (colod or hot)!!!
