Check your carbs, tank, lines, fuel switch and pump. I have the same bike & same problem. Had to tare down EVERYTHING! Tank was nasty inside (use Metal-Rescue to clean), lines and carbs clogged. Be sure and clean fuel pump completely I found that mine wouldn\'t run because of stuff in it but acted like an electrical failure.
If you\'re really ambitious, toss all that plastic airbox stuff and replace with a couple of K&N canister filters. You\'ll need to fab some small parts but nothing that can\'t do in a garage or a regular auto shop.
And most important before you put a drop of new gas in the tank FUEL FILTER!

It sounds like its time to have the carbuerator cleaned more then likely you have some varnish build up in the idle circuit. I cant remember if that bike has a fuel filter in line from the tank but if it does I would recommend changing that first as it could simply be starving the motor of fuel at idle.
