Ok, you need to charge the battery in your bike to full charge and you'll need a DVOM (digital volt ohm meter). Connect the meter to the battery with the red lead going to the positive post and the black meter lead going to the negative post. Put the meter's function selector switch in "DC VOLTS" 50 volt range. Start the engine and bring it to a high idle. Within a minute or so, the meter should read 14.5 to 15.0 volts. If it does, your charging system is fine. If not, proceed to the alternator test.

Follow the two wires from the voltage regulator on the front of the bike until you find the plug where it plugs into the lead coming from the alternator inside the engine case. Unplug this connection and look into the end coming from the engine. There are two pins inside this plug. This is where you're going to check the voltage output of the alternator. Since this voltage is AC, it makes no difference which meter lead goes into which pin, just don't let them touch each other or the engine case while take the measurement. Put the meter's function switch in the "AC VOLTS" 50 volt range position. Start the engine and bring it to a high idle. Insert the probes from the meter to the pins from the alternator. You should read at least 25 volts.

If you don't get at least 25 volts, the stator in your bike is bad. If you do get the 25 volts but not the 14.5 volts at the battery in the previous test, the regulator could be bad. Make sure that the regulator is grounded to the frame properly. I like to put a "star type" lockwasher between the regulator and the frame on at least one of the mounting bolts to insure a good ground. I hope this helps.

I have an hp pavilion g6-1b79dx notebook that will shut off if I do not keep it plugged to the charger. Is that a battery problem?

First, how long have you had the battery? If you look in the Taskbar Notification Area at the Power/Battery icon what does it read? Do you get a message before the shut-down? I would suspect you need to replace the battery, but to may a informed solution I need more info. Respond to this post for further assistance.

Repair charge batteri

If thelaptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR Thebattery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the batterydrops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptablecharge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

I reinstalled XP on IBM T41, now battery won't charge. Could this be Driver Problem

Sounds like you need a new battery.
It's not just a battery in a case, it also has a small circuit board inside to control the charging etc, if that's faulty it won't charge, or if it has dead cells in it won't charge.

Netbook charging indicator light won't light and battery won't charge. AC adapter works on other computers

Hello,
If the battery won't charge and the laptop won't turn on but the ac adapter works with other laptops, then the problem is the port where you plugin the ac adapter. Some of the laptops has it built in to the motherboard. So you might need to have it repaired by a technician. Or if the laptop is still in warranty, you might need to send it to the manufacturer to have it repaired or replaced. But if the laptop works without the battery, or it will turn on but the battery indicator is not lighting up, you're facing one of these problems.
1. The battery itself is dead. 2. the battery bay is loose 3. the battery itself is loose
Hope this helps...
