There must be a short perhaps caused by the wiring to anything on that circuit touching earth. Only a good inspection of the wiring for the tail lights and the instruments will find it and concentrating on the areas where th wiring bends like around the steering head might find it faster.-------- Also check the tail light fuse, if its causing the short.Remove the fuse and clean it and re- fit it. Fuse is in the box under the left ram air cover. Should be labeled "Signals" on the diagram on the fuse box cover, in most of the Yamaha motor cycles. You will have to test for voltage when brake is applied. If the tail light shows voltage, there is power. If no voltage, then there is short. The tail light bulb, at the back of bulb, there will be a connector from where, you will have to follow the wire till the front wiring harness. If there is short, the wires will show voltage, even without depressing brake and turning the bike ON.The shorted wires must be getting power directly from battery, as per that , you can re-wire the tail light.-------- You can run additional wire from tail light bulb socket to main wiring harness and see, if tail light works properly. If its works, that means old wiring is causing the short and wirings needs to be rebuild. But if tail light not working with new wiring too, then its ground issue, the connections are getting in contact and causing the short.-------- As per that you can start troubleshooting.---------- this should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

2002 Isuzu rodeo-tail/illumini fuse keeps blowing-can't figure out what exactly is all on this fuse. Don't know what illumini is actually referring to-what specific lights compose this fuse?

Should be all of the parking lights. You may need to pull the bulbs to narrow down which circuit is blowing the fuse. You can use a test light or meter to hunt down the short.

1984 Honda GL 1200 Aspencade Gold Wing has a short in the tail light

Hi, Joseph tail light issues are relatively easy to diagnose and repair always check the tail light fuse first and make sure you have power on both sides of the fuse holder and the usual suspects are:
1. Tail light bulb element is broken.
2. Tail light bulb soldered contacts are extremely worn down.
3. Tail light bulb socket corroded.
4. Tail light bulb socket has no power and or ground.
5. Tail light wiring harness damaged from the rear tire.
6. Tail light rear fender wiring harness connector faulty due to corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets.

Fuse for tail lights keeps blowing

You have a serious short circuit in the wiring to the tail lights. Fuses protect the wiring in your vehicle from catching fire.
You need to trace the tail light wiring from the fuse box to the tail lights to locate the fault/short circuit.
A wiring diagram can help as it shows the colour code of the wires to the tail lights.
This problem can be difficult to trace and you most likely need an auto electrician to fix this problem. It could mean installing a new wire to the tail lights as a quicker fix and bypass the fault..

I have 2000 pontiac grand pix and my tail light's are not working and can not figure it out the bulb's and fuses have been checked and they are all working and still can not figure out why

Take off the shroud around the steering colum & check for a broken wire from the light switch. You must have an incomplete circut somewhere (Broken wire or a short but if it was shorting your fuse would probably be blown) so I would 1st check for broken wire.

When i press the brake the dashboard lights turn on

Possible that the brake light switch shorts with the circuit, sometimes this can be a brake switch ground shorting through the dash boarrd ground circuit and turns the light on.
You need to disconnect the brake switch and trace the line. also check if the rear brake lamp circuit is shorting in the tail lamp assembly and so turns the dash /park light circuit ON.
This can happen if the tail lamp assembly /holder is shorting. So remove and check the tail lamp circuit/ the park/brake lights.

you have a short the short you have is a taillamp socket short. so youll have to inspect the tail lamp socket and acess the light. when you open the lights youll see where the lights go in they are very prone to touch together and take out the fuse.tail light socket short are common on GM and I know this is Isuzu but they use the same part.

Fuse keeps blowing for my tail/instrumnet lights '98 ford escort

Here is an easy start. Start unplugging things. Start with the tail lights. 1 then the other. Then unplug the instrument lights then maybe the switch itself. after that its gonna be a matter of pulling trim panels to find the culprit (dashes and kick panels are common areas for this to happen). There is also another means too. when you unplug the item in question you can use a Ohmeter and use the black to a known ground then you can start touching wires to see which one has no resistance to ground. then you will need to trace that wire which can be a pain. As you can see this can get progressively worse as time goes on, but be patient and methodical and you'll get it figured out soon enough!

Sincerely

JC
