One coil with the longer leads(I think goes on the left) and feeds cylnders 1&4, doesnt matter which
the other feeds 2&3, again doesnt matter which.
The coils fire on each stroke, compression and exhaust,

How spark plug wirers go on motor from coil

The two short wires go to the center cylinders, two long to the outside cylinders. You will need the diagram to figure which coil wire goes where if you were unfortunate enough not to have marked them.

1988 Honda CBR 750 Hurricane no spark on 2 and 3 cylinder

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Fouled spark plugs.
2. Severely discharged or a damaged battery should have 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage the battery is faulty and must be replaced, AGM batteries fail in this scenario more so than lead acid batteries.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Loose connection at ignition coil or plug between ignition sensor and module.
5. Spark plug cables in bad condition, shorting/leaking, spark plug cable connections loose check for spark leakage in the dark.
6. Faulty ignition coil or electronic control module.
7. Faulty pulse coil.
8. Faulty CKP, CMP, or BAS sensor.
9. Faulty ignition switch.
10. Tilt sensor needs a reset.
11. Security alarm failing to disarm needs reset

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Seated on the bike, the lefthand ignition coil powers sparkplugs 1 & 4 while the righthand ignition coil powers sparkplugs 2 & 3.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

92 honda cb 750, oil light will not go out, bike won't start

Look around the engine oil drain plug and fill area and see if there is an electric sending unit( small plug with a prong for a wire) that is screwed into the engine if so check to see if its unplugged / could be a low oil cut off switch that kills all power to the ignition if the oil is to low ( or the wire is unplugged)

How do I check if there is spark??

Take the spark plug out, reconnect the coil wire, and hold the spark plug against the engine block while turning over the engine. You should see a spark across the gap of the spark plug. Use leather, thick dry cloth, or rubber gloves, dry newspaper, or rubber handled pliers to hold the plug or you might get zapped. Or you could play a mean trick on a friend and let them hold the plug while you crank it and watch them jump and cuss. Don't forget to run like h***. If you found this helpful please remember to rank it.
