My older Evenrude 30 elo 689 L 418232, How do I winterize motor?

The main concerns are:
1. Draining and/or running all the fuel out
2. Fogging the engine with protective oil (fogging oil is available)
3. Remove the prop. The splice could use some lube and the number 1 cause of oil leaks is fishing line wrapped around the prop shaft. You don't fish? others do.
4. Hang the motor vertical (normal running position) should drain all the water out.

Will tappets on a pontiac 3.8 start rattling after motor overheats?

it can if the motor got very hot. you may have poor oil quality from overheating. damaged valve lifters, damaged camshaft/bearings, oil pump, water in oil which can cause engine damage from overheating. it will have to be checked out to find what caused the overheating then the lose of oil pressure to cause the rattle.

My problem with Karcher K2-59M is doesn't switch off when releasing spray trigger and it leaks water from two small holes in water inlet tube. I have stripped the washer down but find no solution. Also...

these units normally use a flow switch which actually feeds the pump motor failure to shut down causes overpressurization in pump head causing pump failure oil is normally sealed replacing the oil, pump has to be separated from motor and possible seal replacement unless u have a way to inject the oil through the lip of seal with out damaging it.

Briggs & Stratton 18 hp motor oil is milky white

The usual cause of milky white oil is water. It can come from a cooling system if so equipped or oil contaminated with water before it was added to the motor. It's possible to get water in the crank case from condensation or water getting the motor if it's left out in the rain but this usually results in small amounts of water that easily evaporate when the motor gets hot. Use a good motor flush and change your oil then watch it closely. If it gets white again you'll have to find out where the water is coming from.

80 hp steaming from engine exhaust wont plaine out carbs just rebuilt

Sounds like the water pump impeller needs changed. How is the stream of water coming out of the weep hole? It should be a good strong flow and only warm not hot. Ther could be debris logged in the intake at the bottom of your motor so check and make sure it is clean and clear. Be very careful of using the motor till this is remidied or you will ruin the power head on the motor. Try flushing the motor out withy a garden hose and intake boot that you cover the intake with and it hooks to the hose, use lots of clean water and watch the discharge fromt he weep hole. Hopefully you just had dirt or mud in the intake and you can flush it out, if not then replace the water pump impeller, I use the 5 blade type vs the 3 blade type for better water flow.
If the engine senses an overheat condition it will not run at full power, this is a safety to keep the motor from failing. You may also have a burned piston which would cause a low power condition. The carbs were rebuilt but are they running too lean? if so this would cause the motor to overheat as well. Take the plugs out and look inside the cylinders with a flash light to see if you have a damaged piston that could be causing the overheating condition. If your using the oild injected motor, you could have a plugged oil line and that will cause damage to a piston as well. It won't hurt to run the motor rich on the oil, so if you wish you can even add oil to the exsisting gas to make sure your getting oil to all pistons. I have seen this in the past when one cylinder was not getting oil but there was enough going to the other pistons that never allowed the oil warning light to come on. When you get rid of the oil injection these problems go away. Let me know what you find and how your motor is set up so I can help get this diagnosed. Thanks

I have oil leaking into my 1990 ford festivas radiator, what could be causing this?Is this a serious problem?

It could be the transmission oil leaking since the transmission fluid goes through the bottom of the radiator to cool off. You may need to replace the radiator. But if it's motor oil then there is a blown gasket on the motor or crack. Look at the motor oil on the dip stick and see if it looks normal or is milky looking indicating that there is also water in your motor. If it's just the radiator then it's not a serious as it is if the water is in the motor. Motor will be damaged with water in it.

It will turn into a chocolate milk kinda pasty color, it will be light brown. it will be runnier. and eventually if u keep driving it... motor will probally lock up cause its not getting the proper lubrication it needs.
