Have your choke checked. It might be faulty which may have caused the problem with the air fuel mixture resulting in the excess carbon as found on the plugs.

The jets, specifically the idle jet may be clogged or need cleaning. You may need to have the carbs cleaned.

Hi there ntx. Have you checked the air/ fuel ratio? Who did the work? Black smoke is an indicator of burning oil so the rings may have been installed incorrectly. Often times people line the gaps in the piston rings instead of offsetting them from eachother.

Hight idle may be automatic choke.Low power mainly poor compresion from worn piston rings, valves timing, sparkplugs, bad oil.Could be a cloged carb also.Cheers

Will not build pressure past 40 psi

You have either damaged reed valves or piston ring. Both of which are common problems with this type of compressor. To diagnose: Remove the motor cover, then the four screws holding the cylinder head on. The valve plate is under the head and all eight reeds, five intake and three output, must be in very good condition to work properly. You'll need the valve plate, part number N017592, and head gasket, part number Z-D24819, if there are any damaged reed valves. If they're OK, check the piston ring. Remove the screw holding the piston on the flywheel and pull the con-rod out of the cylinder. The ring around the piston must be in perfect condition to build pressure. The connecting rod kit, part number KK-4964, is the only way to get the piston seal ring.

Banshee wont rev

Usually related to TORS, specifically the safety switch in the clutch/park brake assembly. If it's defective the engine won't rev. Solution: look for a TORS removal kit.

Kx 125 reed valves

The reed valve assembly should hold solvent withot leaking. Remove for test. Disassemble and clean reeds and reed seat. Perfect seal is very important.

Good luck,

I have a poulan pro bvm200 leaf blower, was running and then it stopped and have not been able to start it. I took all the parts off and all are clean. Throttle is clean, push button for fuel is working....

the bvm 200 model has a 25cc piston and ring the rings are infamous for getting clogged and baked into theyre seat, this creates a compwesion problem and it will not start, gets fuel spark but without compresion it'll just not run or start,if careful you can remove the piston soak it with ring atached in carb cleaner and get it springy again or replace the ring with a new one it has a 1.353 (34.38)mm bore and a ring thikness of .061 hope this helps

The bike will still run even at 7:1 or a little lower, but the specifications call for about 10:1.
