Vibration

if your running the kubota diesel at north of 2000 rpm the vibration just might be the governor starting to cut in and making it miss this will produce a noticable vibration but unless your monitoring it with diagnostics equipment you wont be able to detect it by ear
also had one that the flywheel was comming loose that did that as well (it had over 500 hours on it )

The bolts that hold the voltage regulator have vibrated out. what size are they?

On the older bikes, they were 1/4" X 20 X 1". The holes were clear drilled and they had nuts on the backside. I always put nylon lock nuts on the backside so they wouldn't vibrate off.

Good Luck

indicates a bad throw out bearing on the clutch
the vibration could be an input shaft bearing or a drive line vibration from a bad joint

'03 FLTHPI 43,000 miles.Vibration between1,500 & 2000 rpms. before or after that it smooths out.

You could have a problem with the rubber engine mounts or the stabilizer links or both. It's not unusual to have a vibration at idle and up to about the 2000 rpm point on most rubber mount machines. This is because the rubber mounts are designed to dampen the high frequency vibrations at the engine speed people usually ride at, over 2000 rpm.

Now, if you've suddenly developed this vibration, I'd check the engine mounts and stabilizer links. The stabilizer links look kind of like those turn type cable tensioners. I think there are two on your bike, one up above the carb/ throttle body, and possibly one near the front motor mount.

I have a 98 softail and the mirrors just unscrew using an open end wrench. Also use the blue loctite when reinstalling for vibration.

2000 Dodge Dakota vibration while driving

sound like the u-joints in the driveshaft. Lay under the truck and where the u-joints are try moving the driveshaft up and down. If it moves then the u-joints are bed. This will cause a tremendous vibration under a load and the faster it spins it will smooth out.

My 2009 Dyna Super Glide Custom motorcycle has had an unusual amount of vibration overall when under way while accelerating or deaccelerating through 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gears. It seems to me to be either...

You can check for a loose or broken motor mount but you need to consider how the rubber mounts work. The mounts absorb high frequency vibrations. Low frequency vibrations will be felt throughout the machine.

On most Dyna's, the bike vibrates when idling. When accelerating though the gears (and decelerating back down) if the engine rpm's gets below about 2000 rpm's, you'll feel the vibration. Once above this level, the bike smooths out due to the change in frequency of the vibrations. I have owned a '94 FXDWG since new and this is my experience with the bike.

However, if the vibration is very bad, you may need to have it looked at by a technician. You'll have to determine that for yourself.

2000fxst 44000miles it is developing a motor vibration above 2500rpm I am concerned with the balancing shafts and chain assembly.what is normal wear time and replacement?

You may want to check all of you engine mouting bolts to make sure they are torqued correctly. As to the shafts and chain they are really only replaced when out of limits. I would be very surprised if they were out of limits and the only problem. While I have not seen every 88B motor....we rebuild them and most often don't replace those items. Hope this helps.

Check the engine mounts to the frame. these are isolated by rubber and you may have broken one gettin' on it at the light.
