The VT1100C model requires 15.2 oz (449cc) per side.

The VT1100C2 requires 16.3 oz. (482cc) per side.

The manufacturer recommends using Honda SS-8 fork oil.
It comes in a 16 OZ bottle

Fork oil level on a 95 Honda Magna 750


Let someone else chime in but on my '83 magna it 13 oz

the bikes have changed a lot since then.. 4.8 oz sounds very low

Front forks on 1996 honda shadow are very soft


Hi, Anonymous if your front forks are stiff or soft or not performing as required the usual suspects are:
1. Incorrect fork oil capacity.
2. Incorrect fork oil weight.
3. Incorrect air pressure.
4. Fork springs are worn out.
5. Fork springs installed upside down.
6. Fork springs are the wrong length.
7. Fork springs not designed for year and model.
8. Slider spring missing from fork assembly.
9. Slider spring installed incorrectly.
10. Incorrect fork seals or bushings facilitating stiction.

94 shadow vt1100 front forks to soft.


Does it have a bad fork seal? Check this by popping the dust cover off the lower legs and if you see fork oil on top of the seal than it has gone dad and needs replaced. Adding oil to the forks will stiffen then back up but if you have bad seals then you will be adding more oil again in a very short time and also this is dangerous cause the oil can get on the brake pads and cause brake fade when you need them.
