its all about carburetor setting .

Make sure your RPM reads between 1000 to 1500 during the idle running condition. And while running for speed of 40kmph the RPM should be very near to 3000. If this is the case, then your bike should be giving better mileage. In city it should be 45 and above and in Highways it could even give you 55kmpl. If the RPMs are more during idle, it means that your fuel valve is open too much more than the factory setting. You have to tune it with the guidance from the Authorised service center.
