What type of motor oil does a 2001 Kawasaki 1500 classic use. and how much does it take to change it

you can use 10w30 or 20w50 motor oil. in any bike I`ve owned from a 72 Honda 350 to a 88 Goldwing 1500 and serviced bikes into 2004 I`ve used 20w50 Castrol motor oil without any problems at all. the amount your bike will need is marked on the case where you put the oil in. I think its about 2-2.5 quarts with an oil filter change.

Oil amounts kxf250

It depends on the year of your bike, but most take about 1000-1100 mL(just over a quart). 946 mL per quart. There should be a sight glass on the bottom of the case that has lines on it showing your oil full level, and the bike has to be level to check for correct oil level. There is also usually casting numbers next to the fill hole that show how much oil to use (it will be in mL). Let me know if you need any more assistance, Daniel.

Where should oil be in the sight glass w/engine warm on a 2002 Kawasaki kxl 110?

you will see two lines at the top and bottom of the sight glass, oil needs to be between these lines with the bike held level, use motorcycle 4 stroke engine oil from a bike shop, car oils can make the clutch slip

How do I check the oil on my kawasaki klx 250? Should I be able to see/touch the oil when I take the cap off the crankcase? Does the bike need to be straight up or is it ok if it's leaning on the...

Straight on stand and there should be a sight glass around the kick starter. look in the glass and you should see the oil. As far as what type oil and how much it takes, call Kawasaki on that one.

Recommended motor oil for a 2001 kawasaki KLX 300 motorcycle?

G'Day b shrum,
You can download a service manual for the bike here, (click on "free user") I checked the link working fine for now at least. Get a copy for yourself while the link is hot.
The Kawasaki shop manual suggest Engine Oil as SE Class SAE viscosity of 10W40, 10W50, 20W40, 20W50 Is really a subjective thing, use the oil that suits your riding conditions, and climate. 10w40 for lower temps, 20w50 for hotter heavier duty conditions. Thicker oil protects better, thinner oil makes you go faster :)
I suggest using any good quality synthetic oil engineered for motorcycles. The brands here are endless. Chose what you can afford, but always get good quality oil and change it and the oil filter every 1000 k's

Ok on a 01 lakota sport kawasaki what should the oil level be? When I take off the cap no dipstick or level line. I know dumb question thanks

i have an idea how about you make your own nice alluminium or something can withstand heat and oil dipstick and a place to keep at your bike and mark it after u have a new oil change.

I need oil for my bike.

The gearbox takes 10w40 motor oil. The bike does not have an oil filter, changing the oil serves as the "filter". The oil does not have to be "Kawasaki" brand oil. Any brand is fine; Pennzoil, Castrol, Mobile, Shell, etc.. Federal standards apply so they are all 99% the same.

Pleas rate this answer. Thanks!
