It will have CV carbs, called constant velocity.
The cable and linkages open the butterflies on the intake side, the slides wont move until the air flow through the oval looking hole at the top causes the diaphrams to lift the slides.
you should be able to lift the slides individually with your finger , and they will drop down again.
I think the chokes lift a plunger in each carb, and is called an enrichening device, as it opens another jet to richen it for cold starts, the choke does not work the same way as a car ar a standard slide carb.

Installing a carb on a 1991 3 HP johnson. Does the choke insert in the linkage round hole or the oblong hole?

Hey Rocky, I would start with the round hole... This is a manual choke engine/carb..(butterfly in the mouth of the carb)... make sure it opens fully and closes fully when you turn the choke knob needs to operate smoothly and correctly..if it doesn't swap holes..§ion=Carburetor

1980 suzuki gs550 Which is the throttle linkage and which is choke linkage?

The choke linkage moves back and forth left to right.
The throttle linkage is in the center of the carbs and pulls a pulley that turns the throttle butterfly plates.

Will run only with choke on

This is fuel starvation ( it is running too lean ) if it has been stood from last year with the same fuel in , the fuel may have gone stale and bloced the jet in the carb, keep priming and starting this may eventualy clear the carb, if not the carb will have to come off and clean through, ley us know if you need help servicing the carb.

Twin hs2 su carb linkage diagram

YOU dont need a diagram for twin carbys as put them on the manifold back off all throttle linkage and adjustment screws make sure thay are all down, and turn both screws down till they touch, now back off the jets nuts under the carbys and then undo them 2 turns only[thats the ones the choke move up and down] now HB on out of gear a little choke start engine adjust 2 screws 1 more turn each and choke in
make sure you have very thin oil in pistons, then when running adjust jets 1flat at a time when it runs smooth lock up the linkage and adjust screws till idle at 600 RPM.

I have a motorhome make Honey 421S with a chevy 454. the choke light stays on, and it smells like a gas station after a ride. Consumes lots of fuel and I don't understand the vacuum system. Anyone can...

Update? If the Motorhome has a carburetor, its pretty old and has a P30 chassis. Gm makes the truck, Honey makes the camper. Check the electric choke and make sure it has power to it when the engine is running, if not check all fuses. I dont have a diagram to see where the choke gets power from. Make sure the choke pull off is working, its a little vac can on the right side of the carb, if it leaks, it wont pull the choke flap open. Anyone that works on Quadrajet Carbs can fix it for you.

Carb. does not saam to open and close as needed.if truck sits for more than 5 hours it takes three cranks to start and stinks of gas

I would start by checking the choke pull-off which should open the plate slightly upon engine start that creates vacuum to actuate this pull-off mounted on the carb top which has small linkage to choke plate. If the opening does not occur after start up,there will be a serious rich condition until the choke fully opens.
