What type of bike? Some have two Phillips head screws from the back side. Some have four long black locking tangs on the back side.

Hi, the bled door is not vacuum controlled. There is a cable attached to the temperature control that must open the blend door. You may have to remove the control panel to access the blend door lever and cable. Check to see if the cable has come loose from the bracket that holds it. Some instructions are provided below. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

How to remove two pins holding ignition clyinder lock tumbler from 1994 mercury tracer

    Removal & Installation

Before continuing with this procedure, make sure to have available a new steering wheel retaining bolt and two lock cylinder retaining bolts. Once removed, these parts lose their torque holding ability (or retention capability) and must not be reused.

    1. If equipped, disarm the air bag system and disconnect the negative battery cable.
    2. Remove the steering wheel.
    3. Remove the combination switch.
    4. Unplug the wiring connector to the ignition switch.
    5. Remove the ignition and shifter interlock cable mounting bracket bolt and position the assembly to one side.
    6. Remove the four steering column bracket bolts and lower the steering column.
    7. Cut a groove in the ignition cylinder bracket bolts with a chisel and hammer or use a similar method.
    8. Using a screwdriver, remove and discard the bracket bolts.
    9. Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder and bracket.

    To install:

    1. Install the new ignition switch and the bracket into position on the steering column tube.
    2. Install the new lock cylinder bolts and tighten the bolts enough to hold the switch in position.
    3. Check for proper switch operation by rotating the key to each position. If necessary, reposition the lock cylinder until it operates properly.
    4. If positioned properly, tighten the retaining bolts until the bolt head shears off.
    5. Raise and position the steering column. Tighten the bracket bolts to 80-124 inch lbs. (9-14 Nm).
    6. If equipped with tilt column, remove the upper mounting bracket retaining pin.
    7. Position the interlock cable bracket. Install and tighten the retaining bolt to 35-53 inch lbs. (4-6 Nm).
    8. Attach the wiring connector to the ignition switch.
    9. Install the combination switch.
    10. Connect the negative battery cable.
    11. Confirm operational status of the air bag system by turning the ignition key to the RUN position and visually monitoring the air bag indicator lamp in the instrument cluster. The indicator lamp should illuminate for approximately 6 seconds and then turn OFF. If the indicator lamp does not illuminate, stays ON, or flashes at any time, a fault has been detected by the air bag diagnostic monitor.
    12. Check the steering wheel, horn and combination switch functions for proper operation.

I need to know how to disassembly the instrument panel of f-150 1997

    Hi,

Disconnect the Ford's negative battery cable. Turn the truck's front wheels straight ahead and then lock the steering column. Remove the A-pillars' trim by removing the screw covers and then unscrewing the mounting fasteners.

Remove the center console if equipped by unfastening the nearby trim panels, prying off the shifter trim panel, disconnecting the shifter cable and unfastening the console. Remove the steering wheel, then unfasten and remove the steering column covers, starting with the lower cover.

Remove the instrument cluster. Unscrew and pry off the knee bolster with the aid of a flat-blade tool, then unscrew and remove the instrument cluster bezel in a similar way. Disconnect the electrical connectors, remove the cluster's mounting bolts and remove the cluster--you'll need to disconnect the gear position indicator on an automatic transmission.

Remove the glove box by opening the door, pressing on the sides of the compartment bin together, pulling the door down and removing the fasteners at the bottom. Remove the center brace cover, center bezel and upper finish panel by removing their fasteners or prying them off their clips.

Detach the end caps to the panel with a trim stick or flat-bladed tool, then detach the hood release by removing its screw. Pry off the scuff plates and kick panels from the door frame. Pry up the defrost grilles with the same flat tool.

Disconnect the steering column shaft. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the column's harness, detach the shift cable and transmission indicator cable if you have automatic transmission, remove the pinch bolt from the intermediate shaft coupler and separate the intermediate shaft from the steering shaft.

Disconnect all remaining electrical connectors to the panel and unbolt all fasteners for the panel around the top, left and right sides and the ends along with the brackets at the center. Lift and pull the panel away from the windshield with an assistant's help, disconnect all remaining connectors and carry the panel out the driver's door.

    Good luck.

Cannot remove headlamp cluster from Ford focus c max to replace the bulbs. I have followed the instructions in the book i.e. I have loosened the screw st the top and the two clips at the bottom

hi you will find there is a small bracket that also secures the h/lamp assy it is attached to the inner wing between the head lamp and inner wing if you feel? or use a small mirror? you will need a 10mm socket/extension/+wratchet to fit the bolt which connects the inner wing bracket to the h/lamp bracket then lamp will come out ps you can replace h/lamp and indicator bulbs without removal of lamp itself

How do i take off the gage cluster on the front of the bike. it is fully dressed.

I don't know what type of fairing you've got, so I can't address that issue - but once you get it out of the way, you first need to unscrew the tach and speedo cables from the backs of the units. If your headlight is still installed in the stock headlamp shell, remove it by unscrewing the three screws (one @12o-clock, and two others each at 4 o-clock and 8 o-clock). Now take out the two bolts on either side of the headlight shell which attach it to the chrome fork ears and push the shell down, out of the way.
There are two nuts on the bottom of the instrument cluster bracket, just to either side of the ignition switch, that attach it to the upper triple clamp. With these nuts removed, carefully unplug the large white plastic connector at the base of the ignition switch. Follow the wires that go from the instrument cluster and idiot-light assembly down into the headlight shell and unplug them. Now have a beer, you're done.

Need to replace instrument cluster/AC bulbs

Hello, You can obtain a 2004 Ram Factory Service Manual with all of that information available from Promanuals.net. The reason why it may be so important is because right before the removal instructions the service manual has diagnostic instructions to try. There are numerous pages on removing the instrument cluster, and cluster bezel.

    (1) Disconnect and isolate the battery negative
    cable. (For Airbag)

    (2) Remove the cluster bezel from the instrument
    panel. (Refer to 23 - BODY/INSTRUMENT PANEL/
    CLUSTER BEZEL - REMOVAL).

    (3) Remove the four screws that secure the instrument
cluster to the instrument panel structural support
    (Fig. 5).

    (4) Pull the instrument cluster rearward far
enough to access and disconnect the instrument
panel wire harness connectors for the cluster from
the connector receptacles on the back of the cluster
    housing.

    (5) Remove the instrument cluster from the instrument
    panel.

How do i remove the front grill on a 1988 grand cherokee

You will need a philips screw driver a #2 0r #3 there are about 4 of these screws. This will remove the chrome potion of the grill. Behind the chrome you will find some brackets. If you want to remove more than the chrome part such as the brackets be carefull as the airconditioing evaporator is behind the grill. This will be nessasary also if you have to remove the radiator. The brackett at the top that goes from the left to right side over the top of the radiator will have to be removed if you want to remove more than just the chrome portion of the grill. There will be 6 bolts I belive as well as 2 nuts that will have to be removed. 2 of these are hidden under the seal that the hood closes against, they will be at the outer ends.
