SOURCE: I need the paint codes for my 2006 V star 650 custom

go to www.colorrite.com and look up your exact motorcycle. Sounds like you have a midnight V star? The gloss black is called Raven and the matte finish i'm unsure of. i work for a Yamaha dealer and we always recommend Color Rite. Good luck.

SOURCE: turn signal relocation

You can get a set of rail extenders. Got mine at Motions Motorsports in Marietta. $90.... I still had to "customize" them, but they came out great!!

Purchase a EFI controller. I suggest a Fi2000R. It is easy to hook up and fairly easy to set by the instructions.

Im not completely familiar with that bike but from pictures and microfiche it looks like there are a couple of bolts under the fairing that when taken out shoild allow you to get into the wiring when you pull the cover out. I hope this helps

How do i remove the rear fender on 2012 nightster

Secure the motorcycle upright on a suitable lift and then remove the main fuse and the seat. Lift the motorcycle just sufficiently to remove pressure on the shock absorber bolts and remove the lower ones and then lift the motorcycle higher to increase clearance between the tire and the fender.THEN unplug license plate lamp connector and the right rear lighting harness connector which has a brown band on the harness near the connector and then also unplug left rear harness connector and carefully pull both rear lighting harnesses and the license plate lamp harness through the holes in the fender and free all of the harnesses from the fender harness clips and remove rear turn signal stalk nuts from under the fender on both sides. THEN loosen and remove the front fender support screw and washer and nut and then the rear fender support screw with washer and washer and nut plates if present and remove the screw and washer attaching the rear fender brace. If necessary remove license plate lamp module harness from the upper harness clips on the left side of the inner and separate the license plate bracket from the rear fender brace. THEN remove the rear fender strut covers and the attached turn signal assemblies from the fender struts and pull the turn signal harnesses through the fender holes and struts as the strut covers are taken off. THEN put suitable materials between each fender strut and fender to protect the paint. It might be best to have someone assist and hold the fender at appropriate times. THEN you can remove the seat post with its washer and screw.

How do I wire rear turn signals?

Hi Anonymous, the best thing to do is to test the rear light first with a 12-volt source. As far as your wires go purple is usually the turn signal wire, blue is usually the tail light wire, and black is usually the ground wire. I have not removed the turn signals from a model this late. There may be a nut between the fender and the fender strut. You may have to remove the fender to get the turn signals off.

Remove the tail

The assembly is bolted on. Depending on how much you want to modify it, there are fender eliminator kits available. Some are just license plate holders. Others are complete rear turn signal and bracket kits. Some have lights for the license plates, some do not. Do a search on the web. If you just don't like how the tail hangs down so low, consider just cutting the it off at the bottom, right below the plate to make it shorter. The reflector isn't necessary to have.
