Question about 2008 Suzuki B-king

Open Question

There's a flashing dash(instrument panel) light. Looks like an upside-down "U" over an upside-down "T". It's flashing intermittently between the letter "M" and the symbol.

Instrument lights not working

I did see where there is a fuse under the hood for the dash lights.
Other than that the dash light rheostat could be bad. In my old model cars the light switch on the dash, you would turn it clockwise to increase illumination of dash lights. The cars I have had since has button which you can push in to lock/unlock and turn clockwise to illuminate the lights. This is my best guess at this time. If someone has done any work under the dash need to make sure nothing is loose or not plugged in.

Lights on odometer dash not working; is it a fuse or wiring?

Make sure your instrument panel dimmer switch is not turned down. It is a "thumb wheel" located in the dash to the left of the steering column. Roll the thumbwheel UP to make the instrument panel lights brighter and roll it DOWN to make the lights dimmer.

Dash lights work but no gauges in my 1994 dodge intrepid!! i have checked every fuse i can find in the dash and under the hood but they still won't work, they don't even flicker when i turn my key....

If you have a 1993-1995 Intrepid and you have a check engine light, you can find out what the codes are by following this process:
To obtain fault codes using the MIL (Check Engine Light):

1. Cycle ignition key to ON, OFF, ON, OFF, ON within 5 second (do not actually crank engine!!)

2. Count the number of times the MIL on the instrument panel flashes on and off. The number of flashes represents the trouble code. There is a slight pause between the flashes representing the first and second digits of the code. Longer pauses seperate the individual two digit trouble code.

Example:
Lamp flashes 4 times, pauses, then flashes 6 more times. This is an indicates a DTC of 46.

3. Lamp will always flash 55 at the end of the test. This signals the end of the test.

You have put the computer in diagnostic mode and it will now display any codes that have been stored in memory. Each code will refer to a symptom your car is feeling.

Here is a list of all codes that can be displayed and what they mean:

Post Back With A Code, If you get one.

After reading through the Article, Pop the Hood and Check out the Grounding Locations. Look for any wire that looks like it should go somewhere. Screw it down (Ground) to the Frame Rail.
First Disconnect the Negative from Battery For a couple Minutes,
If the Engine was replaced they mighta missed a couple Grounds.
One is front Driver corner by the Battery
Two is on Passenger Corner.

My 1995 elcipse gsx turbo awd transaxel will not engage when driving and switches gears alone what could be the problem it also sometines will not start right away. can any one help me

Hi there,

You (or someone technically inclined) can extract your diagnostic codes from your vehicle's transmission computer by jumping pin no's 1 & 4 on your diagnostic connector (located above your knee, under the dash). Note: this connector may be mounted upside down (but the long edge has pins 1-8).

wolfman304_6.jpg

The transmission codes are read by way of observing the flashing "N" light (i.e. the gear selector light on your instrument panel).

* Long flash = 1st digit of code
* Short flash = 2nd digit of code

Note: continuous flashing (i.e. no sequence) means NO fault codes present.

If codes are present, they will repeat over, giving you time to record the codes.

Also, if any of your other warning lights (e.g. Engine or ABS) appear to flash a code, note these also.

Write down your codes and report back here - I will advise what the codes mean.

Await your response....

Cheers,

What is the upside down lightbulb with the exclamation mark//warning light on dash? What is the E code on the dash that pops up where it usually sats "PRND"?

it sounds like you are talking about your "Tire Pressure indicator" light on your dash. you have to check your tire pressure and follow the instructions in your owners manual to reset your tire pressure indicator.

Hi there,

Yes, there is a couple of ways for you to check for codes:

CLIMATE DISPLAY METHOD (this only works on certain GM models)

1 Run engine for a few minutes to bring the Oxygen sensor up to temperature, then turn engine OFF. 2 Turn the ignition switch to ON, but do not start the engine. 3 Simultaneously press the OFF and WARM (or TEMP) buttons on the climate control panel & HOLD down until all segments / bulbs illuminate. 4 The stored codes will then be displayed in the Instrument Panel Cluster display area DATALINK CONNECTOR METHOD 1. Find the 16-pin Datalink connector under the dash (usually above the driver's knee position). Note that the "long" edge of the connector has pins 1-8, which looks like this: wolfman304_1.gif CAUTION: the orientation of this connector could be mounted upside down. Proceed only once you have identified pins 1-8. 2. Using a suitable jumper wire (a paper clip or thin car speaker wire will suffice), connect terminals 5 & 6. (remember, this connector might be mounted upside down). wolfman304_2.gif 3. Turn the ignition switch to ON, but do not start the engine. The Check Engine Light (CEL) should start flashing. - Each code consists of two groups - The first group of flashes indicate the 'tens' digits. - The second group of flashes indicate the 'ones' digits. e.g. Long, Long -- Short (long pause) = code 21 A long pause separates each trouble code (the codes should continue to repeat) Once you have the code/s, post them on here and I will be happy to explain their meaning for you. If you're not confident to do this yourself, a dealership should be happy to plug in their Diagnostic Scan tool to retrieve the codes for you (this will take less than 10mins). They may even do this free of charge. Good luck ! "If this has helped you in any way, please rate this solution"

How do i replace the dashboard light bulb for a 1985 el camino

you need to disconnect the speedometer then remove the 6 or 8 screws that hold the instrument panel to the dash.if its an automatic you will have to unhook the shift indicator cable from the shift colume.then pull the instrument panel out of the dash, turn the panel upside down and you will see the bulb sockets.replace all the bulbs at this time so you won`t have to do this again for another bulb.when hooking up the shift indicator cable make sure it indicates the properly selected gear when moving the shifter to each gear position.
