Hi, it's the one in back with the oil line on it. Warm the bike up, put your drip pan under there and remove the hose. Let it drain, open the dipstick to drain a little faster. Check the o-ring while you're waiting. Replace it if needed--don't want any oil leaking on the tire. Put the plug back and move the drip pan up the the filter. Remove the old filter, wet the gasket of the new filter and fill it up as much as you can without spilling when you reinstall it. Add a couple more quarts to the fill port using a funnel and reinsert the dipstick. Start the bike and check for leaks. Kill it, and let the oil settle before checking the level and top it off to the full zone on the dipstick. Please let me know if you have questions and thanks for using FixYa.

The other one is the sump drain. It usually has locktite on it and would take explosives to get off. Enjoy your Fatboy!

Where is the oil plug to drain the oil on a 2005 Fat Boy Harley Davidson

The oil drain hose comes of the lower back side of the oil tank on the right side of the bike. It runs down behind the transmission and comes out just in front of the swingarm down low on the frame. It either dead ends there with a plug in the end or it connects to a crossmember of the frame that runs underneath the transmission. If it connects to this crossmember, the drain plug is on the bottom side of the crossmember directly opposite the hose.

Good luck

Where is the oil drain plug located on a 2005 HD Springer Classic FLSTSC?

Look along the underside of the oil tank from the right side of the bike. You should see a large diameter hose going down towards the transmission. It usually comes out along the frame just behind the transmission. The line has a removable plug in it. Remove the plug, oil drains out of the tank.

How to do an oil change

Look at the bottom of the oil tank from the right hand side of the bike. You'll see a large hose that runs towards the back of the bike instead of forward towards the front of the bike. Follow this hose or tube down along the frame, behind the transmission and you'll see a plug in the pipe. Remove this plug and the oil will drain out of the tank. Harley used to have a large diameter rubber hose but I've heard they changed that. If you follow the bottom frame tubes back to where they turn upwards behind the transmission, you should see the drain hose.

Good Luck

Where is the drain for a 2003 harley fat boy

There should be a hose that come off one rear corner of the oil tank, it either goes straight down to the frame with a plug directly underneath (has oil o'ring #11105). It could also just be a line that is attached to the swing arm with a hose plug in it and a funny spring clamp holding the plug in the hose. I think 2003 is the first solution though.

How do I change the oil on a 2002 fat boy? Where is the drain plugs?

On the fatboy, the oil drain plug should be on the right side, just under the frame, directly below the oil tank. The primary drain is on the left side under the derby cover on the bottom. The tranny drain is on the bottom towards the rear pretty much centered.
And, as our darlin' little miss piglet said, a maual is worth the investment.
