All the key does is add an extra path to ground for ignition and charging the coil as 3 black wires take plug out leave pluged in kick over pluging and un pluging one wire out of the connector till you see spark then simply repeat for lights look for lamp to come on while running when unpluging a wire if not it unplug try another theres very few wires should be a quick process

SOURCE: I brought a 99 suzuki

I would agree with your friend. Clean the carb. Chances are the main jet is partially plugged.

Will the ignition switch off a 98 gsx600. Fit a 08 gsx1300

37100-15H30 gsx1300
37100-33E20 gsx600r
These are the part numbers to the ignition switches for each bike. The problem you are going to run into is that there are security wires in the ignition switches. These wires tell the ecu that the bike is not being stolen. If you dont get the correct ohms to the ecu the bike will not start. The question I would have is why are you trying to change them? If you lost your keys you might be able to get new keys made. With out being able to switch the ignition on you will not be able to do a resistance check to figure out if its the same. And you will have to make sure that you have the same amount of wires coming out of the switch and that they go to the same places. Go to a suzuki dealership and ask for the wiring schematic for both bikes. That will tell you everything you need to know. If you can send a picture of both to me I will be able to read it and let you know if it will work and or if you will have to splice the wires to make it work. But even then with out the ohms test its still a craps shoot. But I can walk you through it.

1965 falcon sedan resistor

Ignition ballast resistor is usually mounted on the firewall near the back of the engine. It's white, rectangular, and has a wire connector on each end. It's function is to limit primary coil current during engine running. The ballast is bypassed during starting so you get a higher spark voltage. If you remove the ballast, you will burn out your coil.

I lost my key to 01 gsxr600 and need to know how to hotwire my bike

Well you can just cut the wires to the ignition switch and intall a toggle switch. However, you will need a schematic to know how to attach the wires to the new switch.

Lost the key

best bet is to take apart the ignition console, and use the plug with a battery and contact wires from a voltmeter. These have fine tips. First, attach ground to ground, and then use the positive cable to check the connections in the plug so that the lights come on. then run a positive wire to this connector. Next try to find the one that turns the motor over. with the ignition already on, the motorcycle should start. once the bike starts, remove the wire to the starter, and it should run. Don't forget to center the emergency shutoff, and pull the choke if it has one. The other solution is to hit the bike wreckers for an ignition assembly, or take the ignition to a Suzuki dealer and have them order a new key from the factory.
