One of your anti lock sensors is loose or rubbing. Check sensors at the wheels

One of the sensors are starting to go bad. You will need to take it to a brake shop and have it checked ,although they will not be able to tell unless it's happening at the time. Auto zone and Advanced Auto offer this service for free.

I HAVE A 2009 GMC ACADIA WHEN I HIT A BUMP THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON , THE ABS LIGHT COMES ON AND STABILY TRACK LIGHT COME ON WITH A TROUBLE CODE U073 AND A U121

U073 is a communication code from one module to another to simply put it. Code U073 refers to a communication problem with the electronic brake control module ( Which controls ABS/Traction and stability ). I would suspect a loose connection/shorted wiring or even possible internal problem with the brake control module. If the issue occurs after hitting a bump, most likely a loose connection or the wiring rubbing somewhere causing a short from the brake control module.

Brake light coming off and on

Check the fluid level. Low brake fluid level can cause the brake light to come on warning you of low fluid. It will be off when the car is level, but as you hit bumps and hit your brakes, the fluid that is in there will slosh around indicatind low fluid. Don't overfill and only use DoT 3 brake fluid. Do not substitute anything else.

ABS pump and relay

First of all, make sure that your brake fluid level is correct. The brake, traction, and ABS systems on these cars all work together and if one thing goes wrong in any one part of the system, all of those lights will come on at the same time. Check your brake fluid level and be sure to use the correct DOT 3 brake fluid. DO NOT SUBSTITUTE with any other fluid. Let me know if your brake fluid level is ok and we'll go from there.

Why does the brake light keep coming on when hit a bump

your brake light is probably coming on because the fluid is to low in the resevoir. ther is a sensor in the brake fluid resevoir that is on a float. if the fluid gets to low the sensor tells thebrake light to come on . so if the fluid is just high enough to keep the light off, everytime you hit a bump the fluid sloshes around causing the float to drop and the sensor to turn the brake light on. also when your brake fluid level is low it tells you that you will either need new brakes soon or you might have a leak.

Hi i have a saab 93 1999 2lt se with both the brake and abs warning lights on, ive had new pads allround checked fluid level fuses connections to abs pump etc all ok checked connections on abs ecu all...

i know this may sound strange but remove the brake fluid cap. on the cap is a sensor, do this away from any other vehicle and yours and shack the sensor by the cap a good few times. as fast as you can. then re fit the sensor see if the lights go off. sometimes it works sometimes not. this just because the brake light is on, this only usually comes on when the sensor thinks there is low brake fluid. and it can also tell the abs as well. and this is why both the lights are on. also make sure the fluid is at full markings.

My 1998 ford windstar abs brake light is on. In the past I had to add brake fluid and in doing so the light went out. I tried that but it continues to burn. Can it be reset?

thats odd. Adding brake fluid shouldn't have kicked on the ABS light..

Low brake fluid would cause your RED parking brake light to come on not the orange ABS light (unless thats what you mean. if thats the case its normal for that light to come on with low fluid. in this case check the brake lines starting to the master cylinder and the components at the wheels to make sure there is no leaks if you go HERE complained about your situation and also noticed a leak on the bottom of the master cylinder (hazardous in more than 1 way) )

not sure of the component locations under the hood of the windstar but check to see if you were bumping wires on the ABS control module when you were putting brake fluid in. may be a loose connection that jiggles loose when you drive.

otherwise it might need a new ABS control module or maybe moisture in one of the components.

1999 jeep grand cherokee abs light has come on.what to do?

actually it could be something as simple as low on brake fluid. check this and then check to make sure you do not have worn brake pads on the tires this can also set a code when one tire stops quicker than the other

ABS lights come on

Have you checked your brake fluid? If your brake fluid is low, you will need new brakes, or if you have a leak, you will need to inspect for it. As far as the sensors go, if your brakes and fluid check out, you usually need to get someone to read the code with a scanner. I believe they do it for free at Advance auto. Good luck.
