2000 LeSabre shakes side to side at 38-48 mph ONLY when gas is applied past very light acceleration. You can't climb a hill without horrible shaking (not chugging). Either slow down below 40 or hold above 50. No problems coasting or braking. Doesn't matter what gear car is in. Bearings are good. Doesn't shake at any other speed or condition. No clicking when turning (CV joints). Rotated tires that were recently balanced with no change in problem. Had to replace front beat up engine mount due to this problem. Other mounts look fine. 165,000 miles on it (little ol' granny highway miles). Car doesn't wander from side2side/pull or steer sloppy.

had exact same problem and had a drive shaft (????) extension replaced. This item moves in and out when the engine rotates under torque. If not able to move correctly you get this vibration. Only needed to replace the one on the driver's side - other side okay, but it was maddening that you could get the car to vibrate at 35 to 45 mph but at no other speed.
