Question about Harley Davidson FXDWG Dyna Wide Glide Motorcycles
Try using PJ1 fork oil. It works well and you can buy it at most bikes shops other than the Harley shop or you can order it. Most of the time, 30 wt. oil is equivalent to Harley's "Type E" oil. if it's too stiff for you, drain and drop back to 20 wt. Some of the bike shops that specialize in off road stuff might have a 25 wt. and they go all the way down to 5 wt.
Now, you didn't tell me what year model bike you have. If you have a bike made after about 1992 or so, it probably has a turn signal canceling unit on it unless the previous owner took it off. If so, you are pretty well stuck with running either stock lights or at least a turn signal light that uses an 1157 bulb. If you go with the small bulb lights or LED's, you'll change the resistance that the turn signal canceling unit is looking for and it won't work. Much like when you connect a trailer to a truck with a standard flasher unit in it and the turn signals blink real fast.
You can get a system that will work but you'll have to go aftermarket. A lot of the systems are called "load equalizers" and are designed to work with the original flasher unit. Some systems are completely independent. They're made by Badlands and a few others. Check their site and maybe see what Custom Chrome has to offer.
