Hi, Dobysclann and the usual suspects are:
1. Fouled spark plugs.
2. Severely discharged or a damaged battery should have 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage the battery is faulty and must be replaced, AGM batteries fail in this scenario more so than lead acid batteries.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Loose connection at ignition coil or plug between ignition sensor and module.
5. Spark plug cables in bad condition, shorting/leaking, spark plug cable connections loose check for spark leakage in the dark.
6. Faulty ignition coil or electronic control module.
7. Faulty CKP, CMP, or BAS sensor.
8. Faulty ignition switch.
9. Tilt sensor needs a reset.
10. Security alarm failing to disarm needs reset

You should check the 12 volts capacitors on your power supply for dry or leaky, bulging conditions.
Replacing those capacitors will restore the functionality of your TV.

No, it will fry the unit!!!

You need the cigarette lighter adapter to bring the voltage down to 5V. More than 5V will fry the One.

I have just bought a 2001 Dragstar 1100 and can't seem to find an owner's manual anywhere. Can anyone help? Photo copies will do!

Hi, Rob the vast majority of service, parts, and owners manuals on the internet are "FREE" to download and all service manuals contain wiring diagrams in the back pages. The rest usually charge a modest fee around $10 sometimes more and there is a handful of obscure, rare, obsolete, and very old models that are no longer or never were available, then there is eBay where you may be able to find what you need at a very high price because of its age and rarity. Most of the "FREE" manuals will cover your exact make, model, and year otherwise one will be provided that comes as close as possible to your bike and will have most of the same info that an exact manual would have.

I have got a yamaha xvs 1100 dragstar classic 2005 model. it ticks over but as soon as i rev up it cuts out. what do you think could be the problem ?

check the fuel filters, it sounds to me as though there is a partial blockage which allows just enough to sustain tickover and starves the bike upon rev up. this is the first step to check and the most likely. good luck.

02 Yamaha xvs 650 dragstar classic that misfires when it warms up

First I would change all the spark plugs, and if that didn't make a difference then it sounds like the coil(s) are warming up and breaking down........when it starts to skip take a good pair of pliers with good rubber on them and pull each spark plug wire, when you get to the one that the running doesn't change then I would replace that particular coil

Question about 2004 Yamaha XVS 1100 Dragstar Classic headlight not working

Hi, Srgotts1 if your headlight is not working, only one beam works, keeps burning out, blinking, or is dim the first thing you need to check is the headlight bulb for damaged filaments then check your light circuit fuse, then check your head light bulb socket ground wire for a clean tight connection, that being said the usual suspects are:
1. Faulty ground or power supply wire to headlight bulb socket.
2. Worn down solder contacts or loose fit of the bulb base in the socket due to vibration.
3. Worn, chaffed, or broken wires in the light circuit.
4. Corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets in wire connectors.
5. Faulty hi/lo beam switch.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Fuse is good but no continuity on both sides.
8. Faulty headlight relay.
9. Faulty wiring between battery positive and headlight bulb socket.
10. Weak charging alternator/generator.
11. Faulty voltage regulator/rectifier ground or overcharging.

Have problems starting yamaha xvs 1100 dragstar slugish on acceleration until warmed up 10 min + backfires on deceleration and when letting off gas

Hi there fellow XVS dragstar owner!

I had the same problem before. It is usually caused by the wrong jets installed. have it Replaced with the standard jets that came with it... this will solve the problem on acceleration. Make sure the fuel and air mixture knob is set to 2.5 turns-out from full close. clean the spark plugs.. better, replace it with a new one to ensure clean burning of fuel. also, use unleaded gas. this burns better.

hope this helps
