Given continuous clicking and a fully charged battery, I would say you have a faulty starter -- needs replacing

When any weight is added to the scooter including the chair, the motor does not engage.

hi Richard here. There could be several things wrong.first it is in gesr can't push .if it's not in gear it won't move.next it could be the electromagnetic brake is not coming on and the motor is slipping. The brake is the leaver that you use to put the scooter into free wheel If you take the cover off the back of the motor you will see the micro switch.if you can push the little arm on the switch and it makes a clicking noise it's okay.if it doesn't then it no good.hope this helps you out

I have a pride victory scooter we bought used believe it is a 2003. It has new batteries. we used and then parked it may not start back up. Unplugging power to control module and plugging back sometim

Hi there sorry to hear you are having problem, just a few questions
1 How long did you park your scooter up without charging batteries.
2 Did you fully charge batteries before you used it again and was they fully charged as some batteries need more charging time if they have been left.

drop me a line

Pete

PS My advice is do not meddle with control units as they are very costly if you break them.

Hi, have a shoprider TE-889XL. Unit has new batteries and has had both the speed and throttle potentiometer replaced over the last 3 years to cure erratic throttle. Now with fully charged batteries it...

On older units this is a fairly common issue with loose, burned contacts at the battery terminal, battery harness plugs and circuit breaker. Check, clean and lube all the power connectors with a petroleum jelly. Don't use WD-40. Then retighten the connectors.
Another issue may be a bad key switch. Intermittent contacts can often be detected by wiggling the key when it starts acting up.

PRIDE MOBILITY 3 WHEEL SCOOTER FAILS TO MOVE FORWARD OR BACK

Hi. This is just a thought but have you tried putting the batteries back on the scooter and putting a volt meter on the batteries to get a reading when the lever is pressed on the scooter. Batteries can display as being fully charged (+12 volts) but often fail under load, meaning that as soon as you press the lever, the voltage will drop right off. If this happens, it is more than likely that your batteries are to blame.
Hope this helps.

The oil light is on because the engine isn't running to build any oil pressure. Sounds like the new battery may need to be charged fully. After the battery is fully charged, and the 'clicking' noise is back (or not) check the battery connections for corrosion--especially at the positive terminal. If ok, you should get one solid click when trying to start. If ok, but still not starting, jump the two heavy terminals of the solenoid (click source) with a heavy wire which should bump the starter motor. If nothing, then the starter motor needs service--usually the brushes inside fail to make contact with the armature due to brush wear, or weak springs. Most dealers will likely only sell you a new starter--no internal parts. Hope this helps!

Did you remove the battery from the scooter before charging? The scooter circuitry may be giving the charger false readings.

Can you try to jump start the scooter using a car and some jumper leads? If it starts that way, then your battery is dead.

Pride victory Scooter battery charged won't run

The clicking sound is most likely the motor relay engaging and disengaging. Most scooters and wheelchairs do this when in neutral, or when damaged.

I would first make sure its not in neutral by switching a petal, or lever in the back or at the side of the scooter. (you may need to do this on both sides) You should switch this when the scooter is off because you will need to restart it afterward anyway.

If that doesn't work you most likely have a motor issue if the battery is charged as you describe.
