Question about Yamaha Gladiator SS Motorcycles

1 Answer

The bike gives poor performance after two months as at starting the engine the rpm needle drops as lacking the power from engine and it take more time to warm up and return to idle condition.

Difficult to say accurately as you don't mention model nubmer and it could be nautrally asperated, Fuel Injected or carburated.
I would check the fuel mixture.

Hesitation at low rpm

Hi, Anonymous if you have changed your fuel delivery system, air filter size or flow rate, mufflers or exhaust system or a significant change in altitude your carburetors need re-tuning and if your fuel system (gas tank, filters, fuel valve and carburetor) is contaminated with ethanol sludge, varnish, rust, dirt, water etc. or your bike has been sitting for months or years without running these components must be "PROPERLY" cleaned and reassembled "CORRECTLY" before any adjustments can be made. Tuning your carburetor is fairly simple once you understand the basic principals. You engine is a simple airbox sucking air in and blowing it out, it is finely tuned at the factory for maximum performance once you upset that delicate balance by changing air filters, camshafts or exhaust systems your performance may go down the and the engine may run poorly, you need to compensate the air-fuel mixture in the carburetor in order for the engine to run smoothly and at peak performance. If you are running multi carburetors you need to sync them first and make sure your air cleaner element is clean and dry for paper elements or lightly oiled for foam and meshed elements and properly installed. Here is how and where you compensate trouble: "TIP" if your engine "BOGS" your not getting enough fuel.
1. Closed to 1/8 throttle is managed by the air screw and pilot/slow jet.
2. 1/8 to 1/4 throttle is managed by the air-screw, pilot/slow jet, and throttle slide.
3. 1/4 to 1/2 throttle is managed by the throttle slide and jet needle.
4. 1/2 to 3/4 throttle is managed by the jet needle, needle jet, main jet, and air jet.
5. 3/4 to wide open throttle is managed by the main jet and air jet.
6. Wide open throttle is managed by the main jet.
If you are running lean, spark plug electrode color is white, engine runs hot and feels like it is starving for fuel you need to go up on the jet size or move the c-clip down one notch. If you are running rich, spark plug color is black or dark gray, the engine runs cool, and bogs down when accelerating you need to go down on jet size or move the c-clip up one notch. When your carburetor is properly tuned for maximum performance your spark plug electrode will be a light tan color like coffee with cream. If you prefer fuel economy over performance you can go down on main jet sizes until a satisfactory level of lower performance is acceptable versus MPH, your spark plug color will be whiter and your engine will run warmer. These tuning adjustments will only make improvements if your intake and exhaust system have no air leaks or sealing issues and the entire electrical system is in proper working order and you have no mechanical issues.

My 1996 xr 250r wont start drom the kickstart but it will start if you pushstart it can any one help me??

Hi
If the kick-start is seized or lacks resistance when you try to turn it then the mechanism will have to be investigated
If the kick-start feels normal, the spark is good when kicking her over & the performance is well down then there is probably a lack of compression

Bike starts fine on choke then ticks over when choke off. within 2-3 mins the revs decrease to the point of stalling. have adjusted tick over to around 900 revs but as soon as engine warm the problem re...

If your bike has ever sat for more than a few months at any time, the carburetors could be plugged with gasoline residue. If so, they will need to be disassembled and cleaned.
Otherwise, make sure all of the normal tune up items have been performed; valves adjusted, air filter, spark plugs, etc. And make sure there are no air leaks between the carburetors and the engine.
Finally, if the above things are all good, then I would perform a compression check. With the throttle held wide open, you should see at least 140psi of compression, on every cylinder. Anything lower than that will cause an erratic idle quality and overall poor performance.

I've got a 76 Honda CB200T in really nice condition with 7K miles. It starts and runs well but seems to only want to do about 55mph (6500 RPM). I know the redline isn't 'til about 9300, but this bike just...

The CB200 may be able to do better when new however being only 200CC and the age of the machine this may be its best. You could check the compression to see what you have; if these are lower there would be some lose of power there. Also the carbs may need a once over, this too may get you more. However I would not expect to cruise at 65MPH with a 200CC, she'd be running pretty hard. The redline may not be unitil 9300RPM however the engine lacks the torque/power to push it beyond where you're at now, the 9300RPM may be used to get you there. In theory if you could take it out in max. gear to 9300RPM the bike would do @ 110MPH; many 750CC bikes cannot do this.
Great bike though, should treat you well, enjoy the ride and the gas mileage...

1998 Toyota Corolla poor gas milage

first i would change the fuel filter. this is the number one reason for poor gas milage. the engine tries to compansate for the lack of fuel and in the long run this weakens your fuel pump and it will fail sooner rather than later. i als would check the air filter. if the engine can't breath properly it will lose power. if you have not had a tune up I would suggest getting one. this most certainly help boost the performance of your vehicle. i would try and use an additive in your fuel to clean the injectors clogged injectors will make the engine run rough and cause hard starting and rough idle.. the last thing i would have you check is the throttle positon sensor and the O2 sensor. take it to a shop and have them hook a diagnostic scan tool to it this will show if either of these sensors are bad or if they threw a code and the computer is trying to overcompensate for the lack of fuel. hope these options help you. please rate this solution thanks
