No spark at the plugs, Have traced it to the TCI Box, has new stator and the single pick-up

You've covered all the bases for sure, and I know it stings to buy a new tci because you own it whether it's the problem or not, aside from running your wires and being sure your switches are good.
There's no general way to test cdi-tci- "brain boxes", sooooooo, I wish you the best.
P.S. Buying these from ebay or even amazon, etc is WAY cheaper than a dealership

Can i chopper wire a 93 sporty. An d how would I do it. And does anyone have a diagram..

Yeah, sure, you can chopper wire nearly any bike. We call it an eight wire wiring harness. I don't know of anyone that has a wiring diagram but all you do it run hot wires to everything you want to work. Run the hot wire to the ignition switch. Then from there you to to the headlight, the tail light, the brake light switch, the ignition coil, starter switch. Then from the switches to the device.

Good luck

I have a first generation 83 yamaha venture 1200 v 4 i have power to only 3 of the ignition coils the fourth coil has tested good by taking #3 lead and plugging into #4 coil. any ideas on what part to...

Okay...when you say power to the coil...I think you mean getting a spark on the plug wire?

All 4 coils should have battery voltage on the red/white wire to each coil. The second wire returns to the igniter (TCI....ignition black box) and it switches that wire off and on to ground to cause the coils to fire. If all 4 test good...then
Check out the TCI, the large box mounted on the coil rack that the connectors are clean.
Now remove the 6 wire connector from the TCI...and test the resistance of the pickup coils which are located under the left crankcase cover beside the stator coil.
you will be testing the following wire pairs on the 6 wire connector
You should see at ambient engine temp...about 110 ohms resistance on all 4 pairs.....if one pair is showing no need to test at the lower 5 wire connector just below the seat left side with the same 5 colors....unhook and test....if still having one bad test...pickup coils may be bad.

It not geting any spark new coils also

I would test the plug wires and plugs first to make sure the fire from the coils is actually reaching the plugs. Then check the ignition switch to make sure your getting a complete circuit. IF this si not the problem, have your stator checked. It is the piece that goes around the crankshaft, and produces electricity for the bikes systems. If you need additional insight, provide additional information, and I will try to help you further. Thank you for calling on

Theres no spark

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

A couple of initial checks using a voltmeter:
  • IGN + 12VDC on the red/white wires going to the ignition coils and the TCI;
  • pulsating voltage on the orange and gray wires coming from the TCI going to the ignition coils when starting;
  • ensure that the black wire is tied to the ground;
  • low pulsating voltage between orange & black and the gray & black coming from the pick-up cil connector going to the TCI when starting.

Postback results of tests.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa. Happy Holidays.

Can't get any spark on rear left ignition coil

I didn't notice the year of the bike but
the orange wire comes directly from your TCI ignitor unit.
It might be a faulty pickup coil or the ignitor unit itself.
the pickup coils are in the right engine case and
have about 110 ohms resistance.
If there is no ohms reading on the pickup coil then
it is faulty.
If the pickup pulse coils are good then your
main ignitor unit is probably faulty.
Sometimes the solder joints can crack in them.
