2004 Honda CRF 230 F how much slack should the timing chain have

There should be no slack!, add tension until there is no noise when hot, or no play when loose. Do not over tighten it. with manual tension-er once it stops back it up and tighten the jam nut

There is no way to tighten chain, there is a spring or plastic tensioner that keeps chain in place.2003 if you have done a lot of riding it may be time for new need to change chain, tensioner if thereis one,and the plastic chain slide that chain rides on.Good Luck.

Where is the cam chain tensioner located on a 2003 crf 150f

it is located on the back of the cylinder on the left side of the bike. It will have 3 8mm bolts in it and it is spring loaded. reinstalling it is a bit tricky you will need a very small straight screw driver to insert in the middle of the tensioner to load the spring and put it in loaded. I hope this helps you

Installing cam chain on 09 CRF 450. It seems that I don't enough slack in the cam chain to fit it around the camshaft sprocket.

check that the new cam chain is roughly the same length as the old one, ensure that it is properly installed on the bottom (crank) sprocket, make sure that your tensioner is backed off fully, even after all of this you will still find that the chain seems too short, tip the cam to the left side of the engine & your chain should slip on..double check your cam timing with cam cap snugged down & tensioner released.

CRF 150F

No filter, it has a screen helt in place with a spring about the drain plug. It just catches metal fragments, but not really hard to change it out.
