A bent fork is highly likely. That's a real bummer because fixing it is likely to cost more than the bike is worth.

It sounds like the bike has a bent shift fork. That is a bummer because it is an expensive fix. The entire engine gets torn down just to get to the bad shift fork. This is not a recommended repair for the novice mechanic. Confirm my diagnosis at your local Suzuki shop. tombones49_143.gif

I bought a 2003 R6 from this guy who said the chain broke on him. The bike only in neutral and first gear. i cant hift up from one to two or neutral to two. Plus I dont the clutch is engaging at all. once...

personally I have never heard of a chain breaking and having any affect on the transmission and shifting. although if the chain broke and caught the shifter, it may have pulled the shifter so hard that it could have bent the shifting forks inside the transmission.. this would explain most of your problems..replace the chain, and with the bike "off" and in neutral, on level ground, rock it back and fourth about 6 inches and try shifting from neutral to 1st and then back up to neutral, and then to 2nd. keep rocking the bike back and fourth while doing this and do this WITHOUT using the clutch. If it wont go to the gears easily, the shift forks are likely bent. there is a safety switch for the kickstand that will shut the bike down if the kickstand is down and bike is in gear. if the kickstand is up and releasing the clutch shuts down the bike, the chain may have damaged that as well. Hope this helps..

Bike jump out of 1st gear do you have any veiw of the gearbox setup?

i have no view of it but i can almost guarentee if its jumping out of gear all the time you have a problem with either your shift drum and or the shift forks. both require splitting the cases to replace. sorry bro.

Gear shifter is stuck and wont go into or out of gear, used to be sticking from 2nd but now totally in-operative? any ideas on what is wrong with the gear change?

The bike has a bent shift fork. This is a MAJOR repair. Below is a graphic showing how the shift fork moves a slider gear left and right to change gears.

Problems with the clutch

The gear changing problem is going to be a bent shift fork. Is it stuck in 1st gear, 2nd gear? Those are the most common. As far as the engine quitting, I don't yet have enough information to give a suggestion on why it is happening. It could be a bad kill switch, plugged fuel filter or vent, water in the gas, carb needs cleaning or . . . A bunch of possible causes. Which one depends on how the bike has been acting lately.
